Mega Wheel is the live money wheel Pragmatic Play launched in November 2020 as its first game show. A host spins a super-sized wheel of 54 segments, and you bet on the number it stops on: 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 40, each paying its own value to one. In every round one number is drawn as the Mega Lucky Number with a random Mega Multiplier, which Pragmatic says can lift a win to 500 times the bet.

How a round of Mega Wheel works
Pragmatic's rules describe a game of chance inspired by the classic Big Six and money wheels: a super-sized wheel of 54 coloured segments, each carrying one of nine numbers: 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 40. The number is also the payout, so a winning bet on 15 is paid 15 to 1.
While betting is open you put chips on any of the nine spots, change them or add more. You may cover all nine in one round; the launch news names a Bet on All feature that does it in one move. When betting closes, the host spins.
The round is settled when the wheel rests with the pointer inside a segment, between two pins. Bets on that number win at its odds, with the stake returned on top, and the rest lose. A winning R10 on 8 brings back R90 in all, by our sum.
The nine numbers and what each can pay
The payout ranges are Pragmatic's, from the Bets and Payouts table of the game's help. The lower figure is the number's usual odds; the top is reached only when the number is also the Mega Lucky Number. The last column is our arithmetic: how many times its usual odds the top is.

The Mega Lucky Number and the Mega Multiplier
In each round, before the wheel comes to rest, one of the nine numbers is picked at random as the Mega Lucky Number and given a random Mega Multiplier. Pragmatic's page says both are shown on screen. If the wheel then stops on that number, bets on it are paid at the boosted odds, which the help calls a MEGAWIN. If it stops on another number, that number pays its usual odds.
In Pragmatic's own pictures of the phone screen, the 20 spot reads 88x where it normally reads 20x, and in another the 8 spot reads 20x. The help gives the limits of each range but not how often each multiplier value comes up.
The table also shows how much room each number has. By our arithmetic the top of the 1's range is 100 times its usual odds and the top of the 40's only 12.5 times, because the 15, 20, 30 and 40 share one top of 500:1. The help does not say how the Mega Multiplier is chosen for each number.
What Pragmatic publishes, and what only your table shows
Several figures are filled in by the table you open.
- How many segments each number has. The rules and the game page say 54 segments and nothing about how they are shared among the nine numbers, so we give no chance per spin and no average return per number.
- The return to player. The help's Return to Player line is a template that the table fills in with an optimal figure and its minimum and maximum. Read it in the help of the table you play before you pick a number.
- Your bet limits. Pragmatic's pictures show a table of €0.1 - €1,000. Casinos set their own limits in rand; the casino list below shows a lowest bet where we found one.
- No pattern predicts the next number. The Mega Lucky Number is drawn at random each round. Following past results or doubling after a loss does not change the price of a bet: no staking pattern or system beats the house edge.
When a spin counts, and what the screen shows
Pragmatic's wheel rule counts a spin only if the wheel turns at least two full times from where the pointer stopped in the previous round. A spin that falls short, a pointer resting on a pin between two segments, any physical interference or a mechanical fault makes it a No Spin: the round is cancelled and bets are refunded.

Pragmatic Play's first game show
Pragmatic Play announced Mega Wheel on 10 November 2020 as its first live casino game show, broadcast from a studio designed for it. Lena Yasir, Vice President at Pragmatic Play, called it the studio's take on the popular live game shows, "the first only of many more to come". Its game page still calls it "The original Pragmatic Play game show", streamed 24/7 in HD with several camera angles.
A year later Pragmatic called its Sweet Bonanza CandyLand a mega wheel-style game, with six betting positions: four numbers, 1, 2, 5 and 10, and two bonus games.
