Crazy Balls in South Africa: Bingo Cards, Multipliers and Four Bonus Games
Crazy Balls is Evolution's live game show that went live in 2024. It joins a bingo-style draw to the four bonus games of Crazy Time. You bet on up to four regular cards, on bonus cards, or on both; the presenter then puts free spaces and multipliers on the cards, and a machine draws 20 of its 60 balls. A bonus card that gets all its numbers sends you into Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko or Crazy Time.
Figures from provider data, September 2026. The RTP depends on the bet you pick or when you cash out, so check the ranking and the game's own info screen before you deposit.

How a Crazy Balls round works
While betting is open you can back one to four regular cards, any of the four bonus cards, or both. Each regular card is a five-by-five grid of random numbers from 1 to 60.
Each regular card is either a Free Space card, whose centre square counts as drawn and by the rules "increases the odds of making a line", or a Multi card, whose centre always holds a multiplier: bigger pays, but, in the rules' words, "a lower chance of making a line".
When betting closes, the presenter presses a button that places random free spaces and multipliers on the cards that carry bets. Then the machine draws 20 of its 60 balls and covers every drawn number on your cards; a red ball is on at least one of your cards. A card that completes a line wins.
Without a multiplier a winning card pays 3x its stake, and two plain lines pay 6x, Evolution's example. A Standard or Line multiplier in the winning line replaces the 3x.
The three multipliers on a regular card
A multiplier counts only if its number is drawn. The sums are Evolution's own examples, with a R5 stake.
- Standard, 10x or 20x. Multiplies the card's win when its number is part of a winning line. Two Standard multipliers in one line are added first: R5 x (10x + 20x) = R150.
- Line, 20x or 50x. Counts when the winning line includes it. Standard multipliers in the same line are added to it: R5 x (50x + 10x) = R300.
- Global, 2x or 3x. Needs only to be drawn somewhere on the card, not in the winning line, and then multiplies the whole card's win, Line and Standard multipliers included. A card can carry up to two. With a drawn 2x Global: R5 x (10x + 50x) x 2 = R600.

Bonus cards: how you reach the four bonus games 🎁
A bonus card holds three numbers on Coin Flip, four on Cash Hunt and Pachinko, five on Crazy Time. If all its numbers are drawn, the bet wins and you play the bonus game after the 20th ball. Several completed cards mean several bonus games, always in the order Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko, Crazy Time.
Our arithmetic, assuming different numbers, equally likely balls and no extra free space: a Coin Flip card fills in about 1 round in 30, a Cash Hunt or Pachinko card in about 1 in 101, a Crazy Time card in about 1 in 352. Evolution does not publish these chances.
Bonus cards can also receive free spaces, which shorten the list: at most one on Coin Flip, two on Cash Hunt and Pachinko, three on Crazy Time. And they can receive a bonus multiplier from 2x to 50x, which multiplies what the bonus game pays: in Evolution's example, 100x won in Cash Hunt with a 10x bonus multiplier is 1,000x.
The four bonus games in Crazy Balls
Ranges from Evolution's Crazy Balls rules.
- Coin Flip, 3x to 7,500x. Each side of the red and blue coin gets a random multiplier on a TV screen, and any bonus multiplier from your card is applied to both before the game host launches the coin. The side that lands up is your multiplier; when the values are low, a surprise Rescue Flip can flip it again.
- Cash Hunt, 7x to 25,000x. The card's bonus multiplier is applied to all 108 values on the wall first; then symbols hide them and are shuffled. During the countdown you aim at a symbol, the cannon fires and every spot is revealed. If you make no choice, the game picks a spot for you at random.
- Pachinko, up to 10,000x. Bonus multipliers raise all 16 values before the puck falls from a random zone among 4 to 13. On DOUBLE every value doubles and the puck falls again, and once all of them stand at 10,000x, DOUBLE is replaced by 10,000x. After a landing on 2x, 3x or 4x, a surprise Rescue Drop may lift the lower values to that one and drop the puck again.
- Crazy Time, up to 20,000x. A 64-segment wheel of multipliers with three flappers, green, blue and yellow; a won bonus multiplier multiplies every value on it. You choose a flapper in time or get one at random. The Crazy Balls rules name only a DOUBLE segment: it doubles the wheel for that flapper's players and spins again, and at 20,000x it becomes a 20,000x multiplier.
The round cap, and what your choice of bet changes
Evolution's rules cap what one player wins in a round at a maximum set by the table (see its Bet Limits panel), applied at the end of the round. The game page advertises multipliers up to 20,000x, the top of the Crazy Time bonus game, and the rules give Cash Hunt a range up to 25,000x; neither is a sum the cap lets through at every stake.
Free Space or Multi changes how a win comes, not the return: both cards have 96.10% in Evolution's help. Every figure in the table is under 100%, so no card choice or staking pattern turns the return in your favour.
Crazy Balls RTP and volatility
Evolution gives Crazy Balls's return to player as 95.54% - 96.49% depending on the bet.

Pros, cons and verdict ⚖️
- You choose your route: regular cards, bonus cards or both
- An RTP for every bet, 95.54% to 96.49% before the cap
- The draw marks your numbers for you
- A plain one-line win pays only 3x the card's stake
- Bonus cards need every one of their numbers drawn
- At the maximum bet the round cap trims the biggest wins, and the RTP with it
Crazy Balls swaps Crazy Time's money wheel for a 20-ball draw and keeps the four bonus games. On a regular card a win is a line, and whatever multipliers it holds. Bonus cards are the long shot; by our arithmetic a Crazy Time card fills a few times in a thousand rounds before free spaces. The return differs little between bets.
Crazy Balls FAQ ❓
What is the RTP of Crazy Balls?
Evolution's help gives 96.10% as the optimal RTP, for the Free Space and Multi cards. The bonus bets range from 95.54% on Crazy Time to 96.49% on Coin Flip. At the maximum bet the table's payout cap lowers the bonus bets to between 94.84% and 95.62%.
How many balls are drawn in Crazy Balls?
Twenty of the 60 numbered balls in the studio machine, after the presenter has placed the free spaces and multipliers. Drawn numbers on your cards are covered automatically, and bonus games start after the 20th ball.
Can I play the bonus games without betting on a regular card?
Yes. Evolution's rules let you bet on the Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko or Crazy Time cards alone. Only a bonus card whose numbers are all drawn takes you into its bonus game, after the 20th ball.
Is Crazy Balls the same as Crazy Time?
No. Crazy Time is played on a money wheel; Crazy Balls replaces the wheel with a 20-ball draw and bingo-style cards. The four bonus games carry the same names, and here you reach them by completing a bonus card, not by landing a wheel segment.
