Grand Wheel in South Africa: One Payline and a 15x-1000x Grand Wheel
Grand Wheel is a Red Tiger slot released on 21 February 2017: three reels, one row and a single payline, with cherries, lemons, oranges, grapes, bells and sevens on its paytable strip. The only special symbol in the game's help is the Wheel Bonus. One or two on the payline spin for a stake multiplier prize, and three award the Grand Wheel, which the help puts at 15x to 1000x the stake. Red Tiger's volatility badge reads medium, and its page lists a hit frequency of 10.40%.

How Grand Wheel plays
Grand Wheel has the shape of a three-reel fruit machine. Red Tiger's page lists 3x1 reels and rows, one play line and stakes of €0.10 to €50.00, and calls it "a classic arcade-style slot". The paytable strip above the reels in the studio's own screenshots shows cherries, lemons, oranges, grapes, bells and sevens, each three in a row beside its multiplier, then the Wheel Bonus entries for one, two and three symbols.
The game's help describes two features, the Wheel Bonus and the Grand Wheel. It calls the Wheel Bonus a scatter, yet every prize it describes starts with the symbol landing on the payline. There is no free spins round in it, and Red Tiger's page shows no feature buy.
What each result pays
Symbol values as printed on the paytable strip in Red Tiger's own screenshots; wheel ranges from the game's help. With a single payline we read "x3" as three times the total stake: that is our reading of the images and of Red Tiger's shared interface text, which says symbol values "represent stake multipliers and not credits". The last column is our arithmetic for two example stakes.
| On the payline | Pays | Stated in | Example: R1 / R5 stake |
|---|---|---|---|
| Three cherries | x3 | Paytable strip | R3 / R15 |
| Three lemons | x5 | Paytable strip | R5 / R25 |
| Three oranges | x8 | Paytable strip | R8 / R40 |
| Three bunches of grapes | x18 | Paytable strip | R18 / R90 |
| Three bells | x38 | Paytable strip | R38 / R190 |
| Three sevens | x88 | Paytable strip | R88 / R440 |
| One Wheel Bonus | 1x to 38x | The help | R1 to R38 / R5 to R190 |
| Two Wheel Bonus symbols | 8x to 50x in total | The help | R8 to R50 / R40 to R250 |
| Three Wheel Bonus symbols, the Grand Wheel | 15x to 1000x | The help | R15 to R1,000 / R75 to R5,000 |
One or two Wheel Bonus symbols 🎁
By the help, each Wheel Bonus that lands on the payline "will spin to reveal a stake multiplier prize", between 1x and 38x for a single one. When two land, the multipliers they reveal "will be added up before being applied to the stake", for a total of 8x to 50x. Red Tiger's page describes the symbols as turning into "multiplier wheels on the reel".
Two single wheels at their tops would make 76x, our sum, yet the help puts the pair's total at 50x at most. Set against one wheel, a second symbol raises the lowest prize from 1x to 8x and the highest from 38x to 50x, by our comparison of the two ranges. The help gives each wheel's range but no odds for any value on it.
Three symbols: the Grand Wheel, 15x to 1000x
Three Wheel Bonus symbols on the payline, which on a 3x1 grid means one on each reel, award the Grand Wheel bonus, with "wins between 15x and 1000x stake" by the help. Red Tiger's page says this wheel is "hidden high above the reels". On an example stake of R1 that is R15 to R1,000, by our arithmetic.
Red Tiger's page lists the game's maximum payout as "1 000 x bet", and the intro screen in its screenshots reads "WIN UP TO 1000x!". Both sit at the top of the Grand Wheel's range in the help. The figure is Red Tiger's, not a target or a promise.
How the wheel prizes compare with the symbol lines 🔍
Read as stake multiples (our reading of the strip), the symbol lines and the wheel prizes overlap more than their names suggest. By our comparison, the top of a single wheel, 38x, equals three bells. Two wheels together start at 8x, level with three oranges, and stop at 50x, below three sevens at x88. The Grand Wheel starts at 15x, under three grapes at x18.
On those numbers, three sevens pay more than any one- or two-wheel result the help allows, and the Grand Wheel pays more than every symbol line only when it lands above 88x.
A 10.40% hit frequency, and two sites with different figures
At a hit frequency of 10.40%, the figure on Red Tiger's page, about one spin in ten pays on average, by our arithmetic. Treating each spin as independent, a run of ten spins passes without a win about one time in three (0.896 to the power of ten is 0.33), and the average paying spin returns about 9.25 times the stake (96.20 divided by 10.40). No staking pattern or betting system can overcome the house edge.
For the RTP, Red Tiger's game page says 96.20% and Evolution's games site (games.evolution.com) lists 95.13% for the same game; neither page explains the difference. This page uses Red Tiger's own figure. Where the game's help at your casino shows an RTP, read that number.
The volatility labels differ as well: Red Tiger's badge reads MEDIUM, while Evolution's games site says "Low / Mid", and neither page explains the other. The facts panel keeps Red Tiger's.

Pros, cons and verdict ⚖️
- One payline: each spin's result is read off a single line
- One Wheel Bonus on the payline already awards a prize, 1x to 38x the stake
- The help gives every wheel's range: 1x-38x, 8x-50x and 15x-1000x
- Red Tiger publishes a hit frequency, 10.40%, and a top payout figure, 1,000x
- About nine spins in ten pay nothing, by our arithmetic from the hit frequency
- The Grand Wheel can pay as little as 15x, less than three grapes at x18 on the strip
- No free spins round in the help and no feature buy on Red Tiger's page
Grand Wheel keeps the reels plain and lets the number of Wheel Bonus symbols on the payline set the prize range: 1x to 38x for one, 8x to 50x for two, 15x to 1000x for three. With about one paying spin in ten by our arithmetic, stretches of losing spins come with the game, so pick a stake in rand that can carry them.

Red Tiger's own game page gives 96.20%, the figure in this page's facts panel. Evolution's games site lists a different one, quoted in the section on hit frequency above. Where a casino's copy of the game shows an RTP in its help, go by that number.
What top payout does Red Tiger list for Grand Wheel?
Red Tiger gives 1,000 times the bet as the game's maximum payout, matching "WIN UP TO 1000x!" on the intro screen and the top of the Grand Wheel's range in the help. Treat it as the studio's figure, not a promise: on an example R1 stake it would be R1,000, by our arithmetic.
Does Grand Wheel have free spins or a bonus buy?
The game's help describes no free spins round, only the Wheel Bonus and the Grand Wheel, and Red Tiger's page lists no feature buy. Apart from the six three-symbol lines on the paytable strip in Red Tiger's screenshots, every prize the help describes comes from a wheel.
