Great Rhino Megaways is Pragmatic Play's first Megaways slot, released on 30 April 2020 as a sequel to its 2018 Great Rhino. Six reels and an extra row above the middle four give up to 200,704 ways. Wins tumble, the rhino wild lands only on that top row, and four or more scatters start free spins in which every tumble adds 1x to the win multiplier. Pragmatic labels it LOW VOLATILITY on the demo's rules page, and the same rules stop any win at 20,000 times the bet.

How Great Rhino Megaways works
The rules give each reel a maximum, not a fixed size: "Reels 1 and 6 can have up to 7 symbols. Reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 can have up to 8 symbols." The eighth place on the middle four is a horizontal strip laid over them, which in the rules' words spins independently from right to left.
A MEGAWAYS counter sits in the top right corner, and the rules put the most possible ways at 200,704: every reel at its tallest, 7 x 8 x 8 x 8 x 8 x 7 by our arithmetic.
Pays run left to right over neighbouring reels, beginning with the first. The picture under "Ways to win" ticks a path that steps up and down from reel to reel and puts a red cross on a path with a gap at reel two, so the row a symbol sits in does not matter while no reel is missed. Per way only the highest win counts, and the wins of separate ways go into one total.
Winning symbols are removed after the pay, what is left drops down, and fresh symbols fill the empty places from above, keeping the sizes the spin first landed with. This tumble repeats for as long as it makes a new win; the balance receives the sum only when the last tumble of the spin is done.

The rhino wild and the gold coin scatter
- The wild lives on the top row. The rhino stands in for anything but the scatter, and the rules allow it in one place only: the top row over reels two to five. Reels one and six therefore never hold a wild, and any win has to start with the paying symbol itself on the first reel.
- Scatters count anywhere. The gold rhino coin appears on all reels, and four or more anywhere start the free spins. The paytable lists no cash prize for it.

How the multiplier rises in the free spins
In the round, the rules say, every tumble increases the win multiplier by 1x, and the win of that tumble is multiplied by the current multiplier. The rules speak of a starting multiplier for the whole round and name no upper limit; the intro screen calls it an unlimited win multiplier in free spins. By our arithmetic, an option that starts at 5x stands at 8x after three tumbles.
The choice trades spins for a head start: on four scatters, 15 spins from 1x give the multiplier more room to climb, 5 spins from 10x start nine steps higher. Pragmatic's rules and game page give no return for any single option, so this page does not rank them.
Three scatters during the round add 5 more spins, and the rules add "No limits!". They also say special reels are in play, without describing them. The round ends at once if its total reaches 20,000 times the bet: it is paid and whatever spins remain are forfeited.
Paying extra: the Double Chance switch and the buy
The panel on the left of the reels, Double Chance to Win Feature, swaps the normal 20x bet multiplier for 25x. In rand that turns a R2 stake into R2.50. The ante section of the rules says the chance of reaching the free spins without a buy is doubled, and that more scatter symbols are present on the reels.
BUY FREE SPINS sells the round, with its choice of options, for 100x the current base bet, so R200 at R2 (the button reads $200 at the demo's $2.00). The two extras do not mix: with the 25x ante on, the buy is disabled.
At R2 the 20,000x limit works out at R40,000, our sum. Paying for the ante or the buy is still a bet like any other, and no way of staking beats the house edge.
