Burning Classics Royal Edition in South Africa: Crowns, Stacks and 10 Free Spins

Booming Games 4.6 /5

Burning Classics Royal Edition is a Booming Games slot built on old fruit-machine symbols with a royal twist: gold crowns with red, blue and green caps sit beside the fruit. Its rules are short. Symbols can come in stacks of three, three to five diamond scatters give ten free spins that can be won again, and where your casino switches it on, a double-or-nothing card gamble follows a win.

4.6/5. Computed from what we could verify about Burning Classics Royal Edition, not from our own play.

The reels and the paylines

The pictures in the game's paytable show five reels of three rows. The lines are not fixed: the rules let you choose how many paylines are active, from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 20, with the plus and minus buttons beside the Lines field.

A payline wins when identical symbols land one after another on it from left to right. Only the highest win on each active line is paid, and when several lines win on the same spin the amounts are added together. Changing the bet changes the win amounts shown in the paytable, which are printed in the currency you selected, so at a casino that takes rand they read in rand.

The rules do not say how the number of lines changes the stake or the return. No staking pattern or line setting beats the house edge.

The royal and fruit symbols

The paytable has two pages for the regular symbols, Majors and Minors, and pages of their own for the wild and the scatter; the payouts on them are filled in by the game at your casino. The paytable's pictures show:

  • Crowns. Gold crowns set with a red, a blue or a green cap, each with a fleur-de-lis on top.
  • Fruit. Cherries, a plum and a slice of watermelon appear in the paytable's pictures.
  • Wild. A gold W on a flame background. The rules say it stands in for every other symbol except the Scatter.
  • Scatter. A diamond on a blue tile lettered BONUS, the symbol that triggers the Free Spins.

Stacked symbols

The rules describe stacked symbols as identical symbols in stacks of three, which can show partially or completely on a reel. The Scatter is the one symbol that never comes stacked.

On a reel three rows high, a full stack covers the whole reel. The paytable's picture of the feature shows exactly that: red crowns filling reels 1 and 3, wilds filling reels 2 and 4 and green crowns on reel 5. It is an illustration, not a promise: how often stacks land and what such a screen pays are not printed in the rules.

Free Spins, step by step 🎁

The Free Spins section of the rules and the paytable page set out the round.

  1. The trigger
Three to five Scatter symbols anywhere on the screen give 10 Free Spins.
  2. Winning more spins
Another three to five Scatters during the round re-trigger the Free Spins.
  3. Your stake stays put
The bet amount cannot be changed in Free Spins; the round plays at the bet that triggered it.
  4. No gamble afterwards
Winnings awarded during Free Spins cannot be taken to the gamble screen.

The card gamble, where your casino offers it

The Gamble section appears in the rules only where the casino has switched the feature on, and the rules say it cannot be used during Autoplay. After a win you can take it to a new screen for a double-or-nothing round, where the rules say you see your Current Win next to the Possible Win. The rules call it always a 50/50 win or lose with a 100% payout, and each round is a separate random event that does not follow a real deck of cards. Collect returns you to the game at any time, and the gamble stops being offered once a win could pass the limit the rules name.

In rand, by our arithmetic: a R20 win becomes R40 or nothing; gambled twice in a row it becomes R80 with a one-in-four chance. At 50/50 for double, the average stays at the amount you put in, so the gamble adds swing, not return. A win from three to five scatters can be gambled too, the rules add, but free spins winnings cannot.

Check the name: four Burning Classics games

Booming Games' catalogue lists Burning Classics, Burning Classics 2, Burning Classics 5000 and this Royal Edition as four separate games. Everything on this page comes from the Royal Edition's own rules and paytable; nothing is borrowed from the others. Booming's coin games, such as Buffalo Hold and Win, work quite differently: a Hold and Win round with coin values, which this game does not have.

Pros, cons and verdict ⚖️

Pros
  • Short, readable rules with no side bets or bonus purchase in them
  • You choose 1 to 20 active paylines yourself
  • Free Spins can be won again inside the round
Cons
  • The return and the top win are printed only in the rules at your casino
  • Only one feature round, the ten free spins
  • The gamble can wipe out a win in one tap
  • Three other Burning Classics games share most of the name

Burning Classics Royal Edition is a plain five-reel fruit slot dressed in crowns: stacks of three, a wild that covers everything but the diamond scatter, ten free spins that can retrigger, and an optional 50/50 card gamble. Open the rules at your casino to read its return before you play, set the number of lines and the stake you are ready to lose, and treat the gamble as entertainment, not a way to win back money.

Burning Classics Royal Edition FAQ ❓

How do I trigger the free spins?

Land three, four or five diamond Scatter symbols lettered BONUS. They give 10 Free Spins, and another three to five Scatters during the round re-trigger them. The bet stays the one you triggered the round with.

Can I change the number of paylines?

Yes. The rules let you set the active paylines between 1 and 20 with the buttons beside the Lines field. A line wins with identical symbols in a row from the left, and only its highest win is paid.

Is the gamble worth using?

The rules call it a 50/50 double-or-nothing with a 100% payout, so on average it neither adds nor takes away from a win, by our arithmetic; it only makes the result more extreme. It appears only where your casino switches it on.

Where do I find the RTP and the maximum win?

In the game's own rules at your casino, under Terms and conditions: the return to player is printed there where the casino shows it, and so can the maximum possible win for your bet. Booming Games publishes no figure for this game on its own site.

Is it the same game as Burning Classics?

No. Booming Games lists Burning Classics, Burning Classics 2, Burning Classics 5000 and Burning Classics Royal Edition as separate entries. This page describes only the Royal Edition, so check the full name on the casino's tile before you play.
