Candy Tower is a Habanero slot dated 2021 on the studio's own site: a grid of six reels and five rows where seven or more matching candies touching side by side or up and down make a paying group. Winning groups in the base game are counted per candy, and enough of them switch on up to five boosts for the next free games. Habanero rates the volatility high and lists a maximum multiplier of x3,177.
RTP (return to player): the share of bets the game pays back over time, as Habanero publishes it.

How Candy Tower pays
Habanero's game page gives the grid as 6x5 and the pays as 'Grouped Pays (15 Coins)'. The rules screen of its free demo: '7 or more symbols appearing in a group award a win', and 'a symbol is part of a group if it is horizontally or vertically adjacent to the same symbol'. Diagonals are not in that sentence. 'Wins on different groups are added'.
A spin is 'for 15 coins only', times a bet level of 1, 2, 5, 7 or 10; the demo's Help puts the coin at 0.01 to 20.
Five candies fill the grid: a red heart and a green hexagon are the high symbols, a purple star, a blue diamond and a yellow triangle the low ones (our names for the pictures). The rules screens say nothing about a tumble or cascade.
What a group pays on a R7.50 spin
The rules screen of Habanero's free demo lists every group size from 7 to 30 at its starting bet of 7.50. We picked nine sizes and wrote them in rand; the wild's own column there has the heart's amounts.
| Group | Heart or wild | Green | Purple | Blue or yellow |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | R5 | R2.50 | R1.50 | R1 |
| 8 | R10 | R3.50 | R2.50 | R1.50 |
| 9 | R15 | R5 | R4 | R2.50 |
| 10 | R30 | R7.50 | R5.50 | R4 |
| 12 | R60 | R30 | R10 | R7.50 |
| 15 | R115 | R90 | R20 | R15 |
| 20 | R1,000 | R1,000 | R600 | R300 |
| 25 | R6,000 | R3,500 | R2,100 | R1,050 |
| 30 | R11,000 | R6,000 | R3,600 | R1,800 |
Small groups, and the jump after fifteen
A group of seven pays less than the spin it lands on: R5 for hearts, R1 for blue or yellow on a R7.50 spin. Hearts beat the stake from eight; green returns it at ten, blue and yellow at twelve. Between 15 and 20 the pays step up sharply, from R115 to R1,000 for hearts and from R90 to R1,000 for green: by our arithmetic about 133 times the stake for twenty hearts.
Thirty is the whole grid. Thirty hearts pay R11,000, about 1,467 times a R7.50 spin by our arithmetic. Habanero lists x3,177 as the maximum multiplier, about R23,828 on that spin by our sum; nothing says how it is reached, so it is Habanero's figure, not a cap written into the rules.
Wilds, wild drops and scatters
- Where wilds land. The wild 'substitutes for all symbols except' the scatter. It lands on reels 2, 4 and 6 in the base game and on reels 1 to 6 in the free games.
- One wild, two groups. Wild symbols 'may be part of more than 1 group' and 'only pay when not part of any other group': by our reading, a group of wilds alone pays only when no candy group uses them.
- Wild Drop. Triggered 'at random before the reels stop': '3 - 10' wilds 'are dropped on rows 3 - 5 before pays are awarded'. It happens before the boosts, and 'dropped' wilds 'can expand'.
- Scatters pay too. Scatters pay anywhere, on top of other pays: on a R7.50 spin R7.50 for three, R22.50 for four, R75 for five and R375 for six, by our arithmetic 1, 3, 10 and 50 times the stake.
Building the tower in the base game
The rules: 'Boost features are enabled by collecting winning combinations in the BASE GAME and are then active in the next FREE GAME FEATURE.' Each boost asks for 'winning combinations' of one candy, and the counters at the bottom left keep one number per candy. In Habanero's shot one blue group of nine pays and the blue counter reads 1, so by our reading a counter counts groups, not symbols.
'Collections are saved for each bet configuration', and a configuration is 'the combined selection of coin and bet level'. By our reading, counters built at one coin and bet level wait for that same pair. They stop in the free games and are 'reset to zero once the FREE GAME FEATURE is complete'. Nothing in the rules makes scatters likelier with a taller tower, and no staking pattern beats the house edge.
The five boosts and what unlocks them
Winning groups of one candy needed in the base game, from the demo's rules screen.
| Boost | Winning groups needed | What it does in the free games |
|---|---|---|
| Vertical | 5 or more of yellow | A landed wild grows to cover 3 symbols in its reel |
| Horizontal | 10 or more of blue | A landed wild grows to cover 3 symbols in its row |
| Cash | 25 or more of purple | Each free game an instant cash prize appears on 3 to 10 random symbols; 13 possible prizes 'as a multiplier of the bet level', x1 to x888 |
| Roaming | 30 or more of green | One wild at a random spot that moves a position each free game |
| Multiplier | 35 or more of hearts | All prizes are doubled |
How the free games start and run
- Three scatters anywhere award 10 free games, four award 15, five award 50 and six award 250.
- '15 FREE GAMES are awarded when all Boost features are enabled during the BASE GAME': completing the tower starts the feature by itself.
- If the tower completes in the same spin as a scatter trigger, 'the HIGHER FREE GAMES take preference'.
- 'The feature can be retriggered', and 'free games are played at the bet of the triggering game'.
Buys, tools and one casino offer
- Nothing to buy. Habanero's feature list crosses out SuperBet, Buy Feature and Jackpot Race for this game. The demo's Help has no jackpot section.
- The casino's choice. Bonus Free Spins and UP Tournaments are tools a casino switches on; a lobby may show either or none.
- Luckyfish's sign-up spins. Luckyfish's sign-up offer, in the words its review here records: 'The spins are for Hot Hot Fruit, Wild Trucks or Candy Tower, at R0.30 each.'

Pros, cons and verdict
- Counters on screen show how close each boost is
- Completing all five boosts gives 15 free games without a scatter
- Six scatters award 250 free games
- A random Wild Drop adds 3 to 10 wilds before pays are awarded
- A group of seven pays less than the stake
- The counters reset after every feature and are kept per coin and bet level
- Five RTP versions exist, and the lowest is about 86%
A high-volatility grouped-pays slot whose base game is a slow build: winning groups of each candy fill a tower that shapes the next free games. Small groups pay little; the big numbers start at twenty of a kind. The Return To Player line in your casino's Help names the version it runs, and a taller tower changes nothing about the edge.
Candy Tower FAQ
How do wins work in Candy Tower?
Seven or more of the same candy touching side by side or up and down form a paying group; wins on different groups are added. The pay grows with the group, up to thirty, the whole 6x5 grid, and scatters pay anywhere.
How do you trigger free games in Candy Tower?
Three, four, five or six scatters anywhere award 10, 15, 50 or 250 free games. Switching on all five boosts in the base game awards 15. If both happen in one spin, the larger number of free games is given.
What are the boosts in Candy Tower?
Vertical and Horizontal Boosts make landed wilds grow to cover three symbols, Cash puts an instant cash prize on 3 to 10 random symbols each free game, Roaming adds a moving wild and Multiplier doubles all prizes. Each needs enough winning groups of one candy in the base game.
What is the RTP of Candy Tower?
Habanero lists 'Available RTPs ~ 86%, 92%, 94%, 97%, 98%' for Candy Tower, so a casino runs one of five versions. Its free demo states 96.55% under Return To Player in the Help, a figure between two of those rounded settings.
What is the maximum win on Candy Tower?
Habanero lists a maximum multiplier of x3,177, about R23,828 on a R7.50 spin by our arithmetic. The largest group pay on the rules screen is thirty hearts or wilds, R11,000 at that bet, and the Multiplier Boost doubles prizes in the free games.
