The grid is five reels by three rows, with no paylines. Twin Spin pays on 243 ways: matching symbols in any position on three or more adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel with no gap, make a way win, and all 243 play on every spin. By our arithmetic that is every route across the grid through one of three positions on each reel: 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3.

The wild: reels 2 to 5 only
The wild lands on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 only and substitutes for all symbols, paying the highest winning combination the paytable allows in that way. It never lands on reel 1, so every way win starts with a real symbol there, and that is the symbol the way pays for.
By our reading of the two rules together, the wild repeats: linked reels show identical outcomes, so a wild on one reel of a linked group on reels 2 to 5 stands in the same row of every reel in the group. With reels 2 and 3 linked, one wild becomes two, and every symbol on reel 1 then has a way of at least three.
