Santa's Village in South Africa: Row Pays, a Map Walk and Three Free-Game Houses
Santa's Village is a Habanero slot dated 2017 on the studio's own site: five reels of three rows that pay along each row, a wrapped gift as the wild, and a separate map of a snowy village. A win with Santa in it walks him along the map's path, and a stop on a feature dot opens one of three rounds of 12 free games. Habanero rates the volatility medium and lists a maximum multiplier of x543.

How Santa's Village pays
There are no paylines to count. Habanero's page lists 'Horizontal Pays (15 Coins)' and says the paytable 'applies to 3 lines', the three rows. The rules screen in its free demo: 'Symbols pay if matching adjacent for each row', 'Wins on different rows are added' and 'Wins are multiplied by bet level'.
A spin costs 15 coins times the bet level. The demo's Help lists coins from 0.01 to 20 and bet levels of 1, 2, 5, 7 and 10. Coin and bet level together make what the rules call a bet configuration, and that pair matters on the map.
The wild is a gift box marked 'Wild'. It 'substitutes for all symbols' and, as a symbol of its own, pays only five in a row; the rules add that 'all combinations with at least one non wild symbol are paid for each row'. Santa pays from two, the other symbols from three.
What each row pays on a R7.50 spin
The rules screen of Habanero's free demo shows these amounts at its starting bet of 7.50 (15 coins at 0.50, bet level 1); we write them in rand, named the symbols from their pictures and divided each five-symbol pay by the bet.

| Symbol | Five | Four | Three | Two | Five, x bet |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gift box (wild) | R3,750 | - | - | - | 500x |
| Santa | R2,500 | R375 | R10 | R2.50 | about 333x |
| Reindeer | R1,250 | R300 | R7.50 | - | about 167x |
| Wreath | R625 | R250 | R7.50 | - | about 83x |
| Stockings | R500 | R200 | R5 | - | about 67x |
| Baubles | R375 | R125 | R5 | - | 50x |
| Candles | R250 | R100 | R5 | - | about 33x |
| Candy canes | R200 | R75 | R5 | - | about 27x |
| A | R125 | R50 | R2.50 | - | about 17x |
| K | R100 | R37.50 | R2.50 | - | about 13x |
| Q | R75 | R25 | R2.50 | - | 10x |
| J | R50 | R12.50 | R2.50 | - | about 7x |
Where the money sits in that table
On a R7.50 bet only three Santas (R10) pay more than the stake, three reindeer or wreaths return it, and every other three pays R2.50 or R5. Every four of a kind beats the stake: four Js pay R12.50, four reindeer R300.
Each row is paid on its own, so one spin can pay on all three. Five gift wilds in a row are the largest entry, 500 times the total bet by our division. Habanero lists x543 as the maximum multiplier without saying how it is reached: Habanero's number, not a cap written into the rules.
Santa's walk around the village map
The rules: the Map Feature starts when 'any' Santa symbol 'appears in a winning combination in the Base Game', and Santa 'will walk 1 dot for each triggering' Santa symbol. The gift wild 'is not used in the triggering combination', so by our reading only Santa symbols count as steps.
Where the path splits, a direction is 'chosen at random', and Santa 'cannot walk back to the immediate previously occupied dot'. If he stops on one of the pale blue dots, 'an additional feature will be triggered'. A bell counts the dots he can still walk; the snow globe opens the map with his progress.
Santa 'will start on the' brown dot 'for each bet configuration', and 'the position of Santa is saved for each bet configuration'. By our reading, a new coin or bet level puts you on a different walk and the old pair brings back the old position, even where two pairs make the same total bet.
The three rounds behind the houses
Habanero's page says Santa landing on a gift house 'results in 1 of 3 bonus games, randomly triggered'; the rules screen pictures three houses under each of the first two rounds and four under the third. Each gives 12 free games at the triggering bet, and none can be retriggered.
- Santa Free Games. Santa appears 'once or twice on the screen on every spin, but not on adjacent reels'. He is a wild that pays nothing himself, and in a winning combination he expands over his whole reel before the pay.
- Sleigh Free Games. '2 - 4 additional' gift wilds 'can randomly be dropped on the reels before the reels stop', in the rules' words: can, not will.
- Sticky Re-Spins. Any win in a free game awards 2 Sticky Re-Spins and one more free game; the winning symbols hold while the re-spins run, then clear. A round that keeps winning grows past its first 12.
Jackpots, buys and casino extras
- Minor and Grand in the demo's Help. Two jackpots are listed there, each taking 0.25% of the stake, seeded at €50 and €5,000 and paying out at random, though not in fun play. The demo shows a Grand meter above the reels.
- A pool the casino runs. The Help heads them 'Regular'; Habanero's solutions page sells Regular Jackpots, 'four tiers from Grand down to Mini', as a marketing tool operators switch on for 'whichever brands and titles you point it at'. A casino may show other meters or none.
- Nothing to buy. SuperBet, Buy Feature and Feature Multiplier carry a cross on the game page; the rules lead into the free games through the map.

Pros, cons and verdict ⚖️
- Three rows paid separately and added, so one spin can pay more than once
- A visible map that shows how far Santa is from the next feature dot
- Sticky Re-Spins add a free game for every winning free game
- Most three-of-a-kind pays return less than the spin cost
- Map progress is kept per coin and bet level pair, not shared between pairs
- Five RTP versions on Habanero's list, the lowest near 86%, chosen by the casino
A slow build: small row pays on three of a kind, and a map that turns Santa wins into steps towards three free-game rounds. The walk builds up separately for each coin and bet level. No betting system beats the house edge; check the RTP your casino's Help states before playing for money.
Santa's Village FAQ ❓
How does the map feature work in Santa's Village?
In the base game, every Santa symbol in a winning combination moves Santa one dot along the village map, in a random direction where the path splits. When he stops on a feature dot, one of three free-game rounds begins. His position is saved separately for each coin and bet level.
How many free games does Santa's Village give?
Each of the three rounds starts with 12 free games, and none can be retriggered. In the Sticky Re-Spins round every winning free game adds one more free game and two re-spins, so that round can run longer than 12.
Does Santa's Village have paylines?
No. Habanero calls it Horizontal Pays: symbols pay when they match side by side along each of the three rows, and the wins of different rows are added. A spin costs 15 coins times the bet level.
What is the RTP of Santa's Village?
Habanero's game page gives five settings, about 86%, 92%, 94%, 97% or 98%, and the casino chooses which to run. The Help screen of Habanero's own free demo reads 96.70% for the game, plus 0.50% for each jackpot.
What is the maximum win on Santa's Village?
Habanero lists a maximum multiplier of x543, about R4,072 on a R7.50 spin by our arithmetic. The paytable's largest entry, five gift wilds in a row, is 500 times the bet by our division. Where a casino runs jackpots, the rules add their wins to other wins.
