Crazy Coin Flip is Evolution's cross of reels and live game show, new in the third quarter of 2022. You spin five reels until three Scatters land in one spin, qualifying you for a live bonus round. While you wait, a three-reel Top Up, at extra cost, can add multipliers to the red or blue side of a coin. Then a game host pulls a lever to flip the coin, and whichever side lands up is paid. Evolution's rules give an RTP of 95.06% to 96.05%, depending on the bet.

Three phases on one base bet
Evolution calls Crazy Coin Flip "a game combining both Live and RNG game mechanics". Its rules set out three phases: Qualification and Top Up, played on reels, and the Coin Flip Bonus round, a show led by a game host. The bet you pick in Normal mode is your base bet: every payout is worked out on it, the bonus round's included.

Five reels and three Scatters to qualify
The reels are five wide and three high, with 10 fixed winlines, one Scatter and seven paying symbols. A Scatter may carry a multiplier of up to 10x or none, and when three land in one spin, their multipliers are added into your total Scatter multiplier.
A line pays for matching symbols in a row from the leftmost reel, only its highest win counts, and wins on different lines are added. They are paid at once, unless the same spin qualifies you: then they come after the Coin Flip round, added to its payout.
The XXXtreme modes buy Scatters and a better chance of multipliers, while payouts are still worked out on the base bet. On a R5 base bet, our example, the three spin modes cost R5, R25 and R250 a spin.
Qualifying reels: the pay table
Evolution's pays for three, four or five of a symbol on a winline, in multiples of the base bet, highest-paying symbol first. In the game, the information icon opens the pay table.

Top Up: red and blue coins against the clock
While you wait for the next Coin Flip round, you can spin the Top Up at extra cost: three reels and three rows of red and blue coins with multipliers. Three of one colour in the middle row add their values to your Top Up total for that colour.
The smallest Top Up bet is your base bet, with starting coin values of 1x up to 50x; a bigger bet raises them. When the time runs out, you move to the bonus. If you join the Top Up a certain time before a round begins, a pop-up lets you join that round (BONUS) or stay for the next (TOP UP); with no choice made, you join.
Each colour's Top Up total goes to that side of the coin. Before each Top Up spin, the bet is checked against the game's payout cap; once the cap is reached, some bet values may not be available.
The live Coin Flip: how the payout is worked out
Each side of the coin gets a Coin Flip multiplier from 5x to 100x, generated at random and the same for every player. Your final multiplier on a side is your total Scatter multiplier times that side's Coin Flip multiplier, plus your Top Up total for that colour.
Evolution's examples: 8 x 15x = 120x, plus a 4x Top Up, makes 124x; 8 x 25x = 200x, plus 12x, makes 212x. The host pulls the lever of the Coin Flip machine, and the side facing up is paid, its final multiplier times your base bet: on a R5 base bet, our example, R620 or R1,060.

Evolution's promo video on the game page follows one round, in euro. At a €0.10 bet, its XXXtreme menu offers spins at €0.50 and €5 and reads "ALL WINNINGS WILL BE CALCULATED USING €0.10". One €5 spin, fifty times €0.10 by our division, lands three Scatters, one marked 2x, and three Js on a line: "You Win: €0.03".
YOU QUALIFIED! then appears over a 2x COIN FLIP badge. After Top Up spins at €0.10, it carries +18x on red and +18x on blue. The Coin Flip multipliers come up 12x for red and 100x for blue; the screen then shows 24x and 200x, then 42x and 218x. The coin shows blue: YOU WIN €21.83.
Our arithmetic matches the rules' formula: 2 x 12 + 18 = 42 and 2 x 100 + 18 = 218; then 218 x €0.10 = €21.80, and the €0.03 line win makes €21.83, paid on the base bet, not the €5 spin. One round shows how the sums work, not how often a side lands.
