Brute Force in South Africa: Nudging Wilds, Booster Prices and the 40,000x Cap

Nolimit City RTP 96.08% 4.8 /5

4.8/5. Computed from what we could verify about Brute Force, not from our own play.

Brute Force is a Nolimit City slot released on 8 October 2024, an arcade side-scroller in which the heroes Joshua and Jason fight the alien overlord Hyper. Its launch post quotes the studio calling it one of the more straightforward games it made that year: the play rests on three xNudge Wilds whose multipliers grow with every nudge, two free spins rounds of ten spins, paid boosters and bonus buys, and a top payout of 40,000 times the base bet.

How Brute Force works

The grid has five reels of five rows. Nolimit City's launch post sets the scene as a 1980s arcade game: two heroes, Joshua and Jason, square off against Hyper, an alien overlord bent on destroying the Earth. The studio's key art puts pixel-style card symbols over a city skyline.

The same post says the studio stripped the complexity out on purpose, next to busier releases of that year such as Fire in the Hole 2, Loner and Kenneth Must Die. On the studio's feature list most entries come back to one symbol type, the xNudge Wild, and how far it moves after it lands.

Each xNudge Wild lands as a stacked symbol and always nudges until the whole stack is in view. Every nudge adds to its win multiplier. Once the wild is fully visible, a random value appears at its foot and is added to that multiplier as well. The xNudge Meter then, in the studio's word, "summarises" the multipliers of the wilds on the winning symbols.

The three wilds and the two free spins rounds 🎁

In Nolimit City's own terms, from its game page and the launch post.

  • Joshua xNudge Wild. Each nudge increases the win multiplier by +1; the most it can award is 8x.
  • Jason xNudge Wild. Each nudge increases the win multiplier by +2; the most it can award is 21x.
  • Hyper xNudge Wild. Each nudge increases the win multiplier by +5; the most it can award is 51x.
  • Brute Spins. Landing 3 Scatter symbols will activate 10 Brute Spins.
  • Super Brute Spins. Landing 4 Scatter symbols will activate 10 Super Brute Spins. On top of what Brute Spins do, xNudge Wilds may become sticky and remain on the reels for the rest of the round.
  • Action Spins. An optional mode the studio offers to play a high volume of base game rounds or several bonus rounds in a rapid way.

What the xBet and the wild boosters cost

Prices from Nolimit City's game page, each also shown at a R1 and a R0.40 base bet by our arithmetic. A booster is charged on every spin it stays switched on.

Reading the price list against the cap

The jumps between the boosters are steep. By our arithmetic one spin of the four-wild booster costs as much as about 67 spins of the one-wild booster, or about 851 spins with the xBet switched on.

The top payout does not move with the price. Nolimit City gives the maximum as 40,000 times the base bet, so a single 4,000x booster spin can return at most ten times its own cost, while a plain spin can in principle return 40,000 times its cost. The game page gives the probability of the maximum win as 1 in 41 million.

The game page names no return to player for any booster or buy, only the 96.08% of the game itself, and it says the Nolimit Bonus, the Nolimit Booster and Action Spins "may however be removed in some regulated markets". Open the rules screen at your casino before paying for any of them: that is where your casino's version of the game sets out its own rules.

Three volatility labels and what the numbers say 📊

Brute Force carries three volatility words in three official places. The badge on Nolimit City's own game page reads Volatility Insane, Evolution's games site lists Extreme, and the launch post called it "Extremely Volatile". All three point the same way, and the page's own figures are more useful than any of them.

The game page prints a hit frequency of 20.60%, so by our arithmetic close to four spins in five pay nothing at all. Free spins come once in 291 spins on average. At R0.40 a spin, 291 spins cost R116.40 by our sum, and an average is not a promise: a long run can pass without a single trigger.

No staking pattern or mix of boosters beats the house edge. Set a limit in rand before the first spin and treat every booster as the price of a bigger swing, not as a better deal.

The feature list is the description to trust

Nolimit City's game page carries a summary paragraph addressed to players of its Playin site that also mentions an xWays mechanic and wilds carrying multipliers between spins. Neither the page's own feature list nor the launch post describes those, and the only lasting wilds they name are the sticky ones of Super Brute Spins, so this page follows the feature list.

Evolution's games site also lists a separate game, Brute Force: Alien Onslaught. This page covers the original Brute Force of 2024.

Brute Force RTP and volatility

Nolimit City gives Brute Force's return to player as 96.08%.

Volatility is insane: a label the studio places above extreme: most spins return little or nothing, and the return rests on rare, very large hits.

Top payout: 40000x.

Pros, cons and verdict ⚖️

Pros
  • One clear idea: wilds whose multipliers grow with every nudge
  • The studio prints its hit frequency, free spins rate and cap odds
  • Super Brute Spins can keep xNudge Wilds on the reels all round
Cons
  • Close to four spins in five pay nothing, by our arithmetic
  • Booster prices climb to 4,000 base bets while the cap stays at 40,000x
  • The game page gives no return figure for any booster or buy

Brute Force is Nolimit City in a simpler mood: three wilds that nudge into view and pick up multipliers on the way, a free spins round of ten spins and a stronger one where wilds can stay. The arcade theme is light, the maths is not, with a 20.60% hit frequency and free spins once in 291 spins on average. Play it at a small stake and treat the boosters as optional.

Brute Force FAQ ❓

How do you trigger free spins in Brute Force?

Three Scatter symbols trigger 10 Brute Spins and four trigger 10 Super Brute Spins, where xNudge Wilds may become sticky for the rest of the round. Nolimit City gives the average as one trigger in 291 spins.

What is the maximum win in Brute Force?

Nolimit City gives the maximum payout as 40,000 times the base bet, and its game page gives the probability of that win as 1 in 41 million. It counts in base bets, so a booster that costs more per spin does not raise it.

What do the xNudge Wilds pay?

Each one carries a win multiplier that grows as it nudges into view: Joshua adds +1 per nudge up to 8x, Jason +2 up to 21x and Hyper +5 up to 51x, and a random value is added once a wild is fully visible.

How much does the xBet cost in Brute Force?

4.7 times the base bet per spin, R4.70 at a R1 bet by our arithmetic. Nolimit City says it puts a Scatter symbol on reel 2 and makes free spins 10 times more likely.

Is Brute Force the same game as Brute Force: Alien Onslaught?

No. Evolution's games site lists them as two separate Nolimit City games. This page covers the original Brute Force, which Nolimit City released on 8 October 2024.
