How Taiko Beats works
Five reels of three rows give 243 fixed ways, 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 by our count. A way takes one position per reel and pays 'in succession from the leftmost reel to the right', so a win starts on reel one and needs three reels at least; each way pays its longest combination only, and 'wins for different combinations are added'. A spin costs 25 coins times the bet level, and pays are counted in units of one coin times the bet level, a twenty-fifth of the stake by our division.
Habanero's own base-game screenshot shows ways multiplying: kendama toys once on reel one, twice on reel two, once on reel three and twice on reel four make 1 x 2 x 1 x 2 = 4 ways, by our count. At the shot's €25,000 stake, four kendamas pay €75,000 a way and €300,000 in all, the WIN on the bar, by our arithmetic.
A gold barrel drum heads the pay table, then a folding fan, a kendama and a skewer of dango; A, K, Q and J pay least. The wild, a taiko drum marked WILD, 'substitutes for all symbols except' the scatter, a red shrine, and appears on reels 1, 3 and 5, with no pay line of its own.

Scatters: a pay of their own and the way in
Scatters 'pay anywhere', multiplied by the total bet: three return the stake, four pay five times it and five pay 100 times it. The rules add that scatters 'only appear during the Base Game'.
Three scatters award 8 free games, four award 18 and five 28, the 'up to 28 Free Games' of Habanero's game page, played at the ways and bet level of the triggering spin. As scatters do not appear in the round, by our reading they cannot add games to it; the one rule on the screens that adds games is the last-game rule below.
The free games: wilds that stay and step up to x3
The feature's rules continue: 'Any Wild symbol appearing in a winning combination remains on the reels for the next spin.' At 'the start of each free game', wilds change into x2 wilds and x2 wilds into x3 wilds. 'Wild symbols that do not appear in winning combinations are removed from the reels.'
Habanero's game page puts it in its own words: 'Any Wild symbol in a winning combination sticks to the reels', and 'Wild symbols are upgraded to X2 and then X3 for following spins.' Neither the rules nor the page name a step beyond x3. An x2 and an x3 wild multiply wins 'by X2 and X3 respectively (whichever is the higher for any way)', so a way that runs through both is multiplied by three.
The last free game has its own rule: 'If a new Wild appears in a winning combination on the last free game then 2 additional free games are awarded.' Habanero's screenshots at €625 a spin show a feature opening on 'You Won 8 Free Games!' and closing on '10 Free Games Played'. In all five of its feature shots the balance minus the WIN is €683,500, by our arithmetic, so the WIN counter runs through one feature; eight games awarded and ten played fits the last-game rule, by our reading, and the €11,775 total is 18.8 times the stake, the €625 scatter pay included.
