How Wild West Gold Megaways works
Each of the six reels lands with its own height on every spin, up to seven symbols, and there is no extra row above them. The ways counter multiplies the six heights: seven on every reel is the 117,649 maximum the rules name, by our arithmetic. On the official demo's first screen, reels of 7, 6, 5, 6, 6 and 6 symbols by our count give the 45,360 the counter reads.
Symbols can be taller than one row, and the rules count wins for symbol combinations of any size. A win needs matching symbols on adjacent reels from the leftmost one, one per reel and in any position; the diagram on the rules screen accepts a zigzag run and crosses out one that skips a reel. Only the highest win on a way is paid, and wins on different ways are added.
The rules describe no tumbles: winning symbols are not removed and refilled, so a spin is settled as it lands. The game's screens say Megaways is used under licence, next to Big Time Gaming's BIG logo.

What the wild and the scatter add
- A multiplier on every wild, not only in the bonus. The rules say a wild can carry a random 2x, 3x or 5x whenever it hits, in the base game as well. When more than one wild is part of a winning combination, the multipliers multiply each other: a 3x and a 5x make 15x, by our arithmetic.
- Wilds stay on the middle reels. The badge replaces every symbol except the scatter and lands only on reels two to five. A way therefore starts with the real symbol on reel one, and six of a kind needs it on reel six as well.
- Scatters pay before the round starts. They appear on all reels and count anywhere: three, four, five or six pay 4x, 20x, 100x or 500x the total bet, from R8 to R1,000 on a R2 spin by our arithmetic.
Free spins: sticky wilds that keep their multiplier 🎁
Three or more scatters award 7 free spins, whatever their number; more scatters raise only the cash prize paid on the trigger.
During the round, every wild that hits, of any size, gets a random 2x, 3x or 5x and stays on the reels until the round ends. It changes size as the reel's height changes on later spins, and a reel holding sticky wilds always lands at least as tall as the number of wilds on it.
By our arithmetic, a way that runs through a 2x wild on reel two and a 5x wild on reel four pays ten times its paytable value, and wilds of 3x, 5x, 5x and 2x on all four middle reels would make 150x.
Extra spins come from a gold star overlay that can appear on top of any symbol in the round, sticky wilds included: two stars add 2 spins, three add 3, and so on up to six stars for 6. The round ends early if its total reaches 5,000 times the bet: the win is paid and the remaining spins are forfeited.
Ante bet or bonus buy, priced in rand
The Double Chance to Win Feature moves the bet multiplier from 20x to 25x: a R2 spin costs R2.50. The rules screen says more scatter symbols are on the reels with it on, and that the buy button is switched off; its wording says "respin round", though free spins are the only bonus it describes. The paytable does not change, so six cowboys stay at R2 on that spin.
With the ante on, the cap on the rules screen reads 4,000x bet against a R2.50 bet: by our arithmetic, 4,000 x R2.50 and 5,000 x R2 are both R10,000.
In the official demo, Buy Free Spins costs 100 times the total bet, R200 on a R2 spin, and a bought round lands 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters at random on the triggering spin. Pragmatic's launch news says the buy is offered in certain territories, so it may be absent at a casino. The rules give 96.44% for normal play, 96.41% with the ante and 96.45% with the buy: by our arithmetic the three figures are at most 0.04 points apart, and no pattern of switching between them beats the house edge.
