Ocean's Treasure is NetEnt's underwater slot from February 2020, with what the studio calls Atlantis-inspired graphics. It plays on five reels, three rows and 15 bet lines. The base game adds a stacked wild to the regular one; in the free spins every spin that shows a wild adds two spins and pushes a level meter towards a bigger multiplier, starting at x3. NetEnt and Evolution both list a 95.99% return.
RTP (return to player): the share of bets the game pays back over time, as NetEnt publishes it.

How Ocean's Treasure is built
NetEnt describes Ocean's Treasure as a 5-reel, 3-row video slot with Stacked Wilds and Free Spins with an increasing Level Multiplier. Its game page lists 15 play lines and line wins, a stake from 0.15 to 300.00 euro, and no feature buy, so the free spins come only from the reels.
In NetEnt's gameplay video on Evolution's games site the reels are set in a stone frame on the sea floor. By our reading of the video, the reels carry the card letters J, Q, K and A and objects such as a key, a bottle and a compass, the scatter is a chest marked SCATTER and the wild is a golden trident badge marked WILD. Which symbols pay more, neither page says. The bar under the reels in that video reads BET (EUR) 3.00 and COIN VALUE 0.20.
Two kinds of wild in the base game
The game has a regular wild and a stacked wild. By NetEnt's page the regular one appears in the main game and in the free spins, while the stacked wild appears only in the main game. So in NetEnt's own list of features the stacked wild is the one that belongs to the base game alone.
Neither NetEnt's page nor Evolution's games site gives the stacked wild a multiplier of its own, and we do not add one. In the free spins the role of the wild changes completely, as the next section shows: there it is the fuel for extra spins and for the level meter.
The free spins, step by step
The order of events as NetEnt's game page sets it out. The multipliers of levels 2 to 5 are not printed on that page.
- Three scatters anywhere on reels 1, 3 and 5 in the main game start 10 free spins.
- The round starts at Level 1 with an x3 Level Multiplier, and every bet line win in the free spins is multiplied by the multiplier of the current level.
- Each free spin that shows one or more wilds anywhere on the reels awards 2 more free spins and fills the Level Meter by half.
- When the meter is full, the next level and its higher multiplier are unlocked, up to Level 5.
- Reaching Level 5 pays a bonus win of 1500 coins. NetEnt's feature text puts the maximum number of free spins at 102.
What the level meter means in practice
Since one spin with wilds fills half the meter, two such spins move you up one level. By our arithmetic, going from Level 1 to Level 5 takes four level-ups, so eight free spins with at least one wild each, and those eight spins also add 16 free spins along the way. NetEnt words the cap two ways on the same page: its feature text says the maximum number of free spins is 102, its summary speaks of up to 102 additional free spins, so we do not work out how many wild spins the cap takes.
NetEnt's page names only the first multiplier. In NetEnt's gameplay video the badge above the reels reads X3 while a pink bar fills under it, later X5 with seahorses beside the reels, and after a cut X12 with sharks; the video is edited, so it does not show every level in order, and we list no other figures.
The Level 5 prize is given in coins rather than as a multiple of the total bet, and NetEnt's page does not turn those 1500 coins into money, so we do not either. The free spins keep no fixed length: by the rules above, a round in which no wild lands ends after the 10 starting spins, all of them at x3.

Volatility, hit rate and the 1,400x figure
The group's two sites do not grade the game the same way. NetEnt's page shows a Medium volatility badge, Evolution's games site files it as high, and NetEnt's own description says the game suits players with an appetite for risk and high-volatility slots. NetEnt's Medium badge covers a wide band of its volatility index, so these are two scales rather than a contradiction; we keep the badge in our facts and name both.
NetEnt gives a 27% hit frequency, which is a little over one paying spin in four by our arithmetic, so roughly three spins in four pay nothing on the lines. Most of the value sits in a free spins round that only grows when wilds keep landing.
The 1,400x on NetEnt's page is labelled max payout: we quote it as the studio's figure and do not treat it as a cap the rules set. No staking pattern beats the house edge; a stake small enough to sit through the dry spins between features is the only lever you control.

Pros, cons and verdict
- Free spins that lengthen themselves: 2 extra spins for every spin with a wild
- The multiplier starts at x3 and climbs through five levels
- Stacked wilds give the base game something beyond plain line hits
- NetEnt and Evolution agree on the 95.99% return
- A 27% hit frequency means many spins pay nothing
- Only the first level multiplier is printed on NetEnt's page
- No feature buy, and the stacked wild does not appear in the free spins
Ocean's Treasure is a 15-line game that saves its weight for the free spins, where each wild is worth more spins and a step towards a higher multiplier. It suits a player who accepts dry spells for a feature that can run long; anyone who wants steady small wins or a bonus buy should look elsewhere.
Ocean's Treasure FAQ
What is the RTP of Ocean's Treasure?
NetEnt's game page and Evolution's games site both give 95.99%. The help screen in your casino's version of the game is where to confirm the figure that casino runs before you play.
How do you trigger the free spins in Ocean's Treasure?
Land three scatters anywhere on reels 1, 3 and 5 in the main game. That starts 10 free spins at Level 1, where every bet line win is multiplied by 3.
How do the levels work in the Ocean's Treasure free spins?
Every free spin with at least one wild adds 2 spins and fills half of the Level Meter. A full meter unlocks the next level and its higher multiplier. Reaching Level 5 pays a bonus of 1500 coins.
How many free spins can you get in Ocean's Treasure?
NetEnt's feature text puts the maximum at 102 free spins. The summary on the same page speaks of up to 102 additional free spins, so read 102 as NetEnt's own figure for a very long round, not a count to aim for.
Is Ocean's Treasure high volatility?
NetEnt's page shows a Medium badge, while Evolution's games site calls it high and NetEnt's own text aims it at players who like high-volatility slots. With a 27% hit frequency, expect long gaps between wins either way.
