How Sugar Rush works
Sugar Rush pays for clusters. Symbols land on a square grid, and you are paid when enough matching symbols are touching each other, horizontally or vertically. Not on a line, not anywhere on the grid: adjacent to one another.
Winning symbols are removed and new ones drop in, so a spin can chain several cluster wins in a row, the same way a tumbling slot does.
The feature that makes it Sugar Rush is what happens to the positions those wins occupied. The first win on a grid position only marks it. When a symbol explodes on that marked spot a second time, a x2 multiplier is added there, and every further win on the spot doubles it, up to x128. Any winning cluster that lands on top of the spot is multiplied by it, and where one cluster covers several multiplier spots, their values are added together.
This is why position matters in a way it does not in pay-anywhere games. A cluster chain that keeps landing in the same part of the grid builds a cluster of high multipliers underneath itself. A chain that wanders leaves marks everywhere and builds nothing.
What to understand before you spin
- Clusters, not lines. Symbols must be adjacent. A grid with six matching symbols scattered around it pays nothing; six touching does.
- Multiplier spots persist within the spin. They build during a spin's chain of tumbles. Repeated wins in the same position are what produce large results, not one big cluster.
- Free spins keep the spots. In the bonus round, marked spots and their multipliers stay in place until the round ends instead of clearing after each spin, so they can keep building across all the free spins.
- Volatility is in the structure. A spot needs two wins before it carries any multiplier at all, and a high one needs many more in the same place, which is rare by design. The game's own rules screen rates it high volatility. Expect long stretches where nothing compounds.
