Nuwa in South Africa: Goddess Wilds, Five Elements and a Double-Pay Bonus
Habanero's Nuwa, dated 2019 on the studio's site, spins five reels of three across 28 fixed lines. The goddess is the wild: in the base and free games she lands only on reels one and three, covering her whole reel when she is part of a win. Three or more snakes award 8 free games, where elemental orbs in winning combinations are collected; all five open a bonus with 5 more games and doubled prizes. Habanero labels the volatility very high and lists a maximum multiplier of x550.

How Nuwa works
The grid is five reels, three symbols high, crossed by 28 lines that stay switched on, and the game's Help prices a spin at 28 coins multiplied by the bet level. A line win is read from the first reel rightwards; each line keeps its highest win alone, and wins on several lines are summed.
Four plants on stone bases head the paytable: a lilac blossom, a coral-pink flower, bamboo shoots and an orange chrysanthemum, by our reading of the pictures. Below sit five glossy orbs marked with Chinese characters, which Habanero's game page calls Earth, Fire, Wind, Water and Thunder. The scatter, a purple snake coiled around a gold stone, lands only in the base game and pays anywhere, on top of line wins. Of the story, Habanero's page offers only 'big blessings from the mother goddess'.
The paytable on a R5.60 spin, in rand
Habanero's rules count line wins in line bets and the snake in total bets. Converted by us to a R5.60 spin, 28 lines at R0.20 (the size of the opening bet in the studio's play-money demo), they come to these amounts; the last column, five of a kind divided by the spin, is our arithmetic too.
Swipe the table sideways to see every column.
| Symbol | Five | Four | Three | Five, in total bets |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Snake scatter, anywhere | R560 | R56 | R16.80 | 100x |
| Lilac blossom | R200 | R70 | R4 | 35.7x |
| Coral-pink flower | R150 | R34 | R2 | 26.8x |
| Bamboo | R100 | R20 | R2 | 17.9x |
| Orange chrysanthemum | R80 | R8 | R2 | 14.3x |
| Water orb (blue) | R60 | R6 | R1 | 10.7x |
| Fire orb (red) | R40 | R4 | R1 | 7.1x |
| Earth orb (orange) | R30 | R2 | R1 | 5.4x |
| Wind orb (green) | R15 | R1 | R0.60 | 2.7x |
| Thunder orb (purple) | R4 | R1 | R0.60 | 0.7x |
The goddess wild on reels one and three
Nuwa's portrait stands in for every symbol except the snake, and the rules place her only on reels 1 and 3, in the base game and the free games alike. The paytable gives her no pay of her own.
Any Nuwa appearing in a winning combination expands to cover her reel before pays are awarded; in Habanero's shots the expanded goddess is a full figure holding a glowing orb, a serpent's tail coiled below. By our reading, expanded on reel one she stands at the start of all 28 lines, since every line begins there; on reel three she makes three of a kind of any line that opens with two matching symbols other than the snake.
Eight free games and the panel of five elements
Three or more snakes anywhere award 8 free games, which keep the triggering spin's lines and bet. Snakes do not land in them, and the rules say the feature cannot be retriggered.
Habanero's shots of these games show a panel of five orbs at the top of the frame, earth, water, fire, wind and thunder, some lit and some dim. The rules tie each collection to a win: any of the five orbs 'appearing in a winning combination is collected'. Once all five are in, the Bonus Feature starts.
By our arithmetic the round lasts 8 games without the bonus and 13 with it, whichever game completes the set, because the bonus adds 5 and plays the remaining free games: completed on the third game, 3 + 5 remaining + 5 added.
The Bonus Feature: two goddesses and doubled prizes 🎁
In the bonus, by the rules, Nuwa 'will appear twice on screen every spin' and 'all prizes are doubled'; it keeps the triggering spin's lines and bet and cannot be retriggered.
Habanero's game page puts it more strongly: its overview says she expands twice every spin. This page follows the rules, which tie expansion to a winning combination and do not name the reels she appears on in the bonus.
By our arithmetic, doubled prizes make five lilac blossoms on a line worth 2,000 line bets in the bonus: R400 on a R5.60 spin, 71.4 times the stake.
Very high volatility and Habanero's x550 📊
Habanero's label for the volatility is very high, and its game page lists 'Max Multiplier x550': by our arithmetic R3,080 on a R5.60 spin, or R770 on a R1.40 one. That is the studio's figure; its page does not say how it is reached or how often.
At the bottom of the paytable, three wind or thunder orbs pay 60 cents on a R5.60 spin, about a ninth of it, and five thunder orbs pay R4, less than the spin, by our sums.
Around the reels: no buy, casino extras, a Deluxe namesake
- No feature buy. The feature grid on the game page answers No for Buy Feature and SuperBet.
- Extras a casino can switch on. The Help in the studio's free demo lists 'Regular' Minor and Grand jackpots, triggered at random and each fed by 0.25% of the bet; the game page's grid answers Yes for the Jackpot Race and UP Tournaments. Habanero's solutions page lists all three among marketing tools an operator switches on for the titles it picks, so whether a casino's copy of Nuwa has them is that casino's choice.
- Nuwa Deluxe is another game. Habanero's catalogue also lists Nuwa Deluxe, dated 2026: a separate title, not described here.

Nuwa keeps its wild to reels one and three in the base and free games, and asks the free games to collect five elements before the goddess appears twice a spin and prizes double.
