Four Divine Beasts is a Habanero slot from 2018: five reels of three, 243 ways for 30 coins, paid from left to right. Each of its four beasts brings its own wild. The dragon's wild covers its reel when it joins a win, the bird's spreads, the tiger's two wilds roam the grid and the turtle's stretches to the right. A beast decides the base game's random re-spins and the 7 free games. Habanero rates the volatility high and lists a maximum multiplier of x1,800.
RTP (return to player): the share of bets the game pays back over time, as Habanero publishes it.
Figures from provider data, September 2026. RTP is set per operator, so check the ranking and the game's own info screen before you deposit.

How Four Divine Beasts works
Habanero's catalogue dates Four Divine Beasts to 2018. The grid is five reels of three rows with 243 ways, 'fixed at a cost of 30 coins', and 'all symbols pay left to right except scattered' yin yang symbols, 'which pay any'. Only the longest match per symbol is paid, wins on different ways are added, and wins are multiplied by bet level.
The rules name the four beasts the Azure Dragon, the Vermillion Bird, the White Tiger and the Black Turtle; the game page calls the last one a tortoise. Below them sit A, K, Q and J.
Two symbols belong to the base game only. The Wild tile 'substitutes for all symbols except' the yin yang and 'only appears on reels 3 4 5'. The yin yang scatter lands on reels 2 to 5 and pays on its own, multiplied by the total bet. In the free games the only wilds are the beast's.
What each symbol pays on a R15 spin
Habanero's demo shows its pay table at a bet of 15 (30 coins of 0.50, bet level 1); we give its figures in rand for a R15 spin, per winning way. Four yin yang symbols anywhere pay R60 and three pay R15.
| Symbol | Five | Four | Three |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wild | R250 | R100 | R25 |
| Azure Dragon | R250 | R100 | R25 |
| Vermillion Bird | R150 | R50 | R15 |
| White Tiger | R125 | R25 | R10 |
| Black Turtle | R100 | R15 | R7.50 |
| A | R50 | R12.50 | R5 |
| K | R25 | R10 | R2.50 |
| Q | R25 | R5 | R2.50 |
| J | R25 | R5 | R2.50 |
Reading the table against the stake
Five dragons on one way return R250, about 16.7 times a R15 stake by our division, and five turtles R100. Among the cards, five of a kind return more than the stake (R50 for A, R25 for K, Q or J) and four do not; three K, Q or J return a sixth of it.
One line of the table is hard to reach in the base game, by our reading: the Wild tile lands only on reels 3 to 5 while every way pays from reel 1, so it completes combinations rather than forming its own five. The rules give the Vermillion Bird's wild the words 'pay and act as' Wild symbols; for the other three beasts' wilds they say only 'act as'.
Four beasts, four wilds
Habanero's game page sums them up as wilds that expand 'vertically' and 'horizontally', 'roving wilds' and 'spreading wilds'. The rules give each beast a free-game version and a re-spin version: the dragon's and the tiger's are the same in both, the bird's and the turtle's are smaller in the re-spins.
- Azure Dragon: a tree that fills its reel. A tree wild 'can appear once on reel 1, 2 OR 3'. Any tree 'appearing in a winning combination' expands 'to cover all positions on the reel before pays are awarded'. The free games and the re-spins share this rule.
- Vermillion Bird: a fireball that spreads. In the free games the fireball 'can appear once on reel 2 OR 3' and spreads 'an additional 1 - 6 position(s)', each step 'in any straight direction from the last spreading symbol'. In the re-spins it may land on reel 1, 2 or 3 and spreads one position.
- White Tiger: two wilds on the move. Two stone wilds appear 'on random positions' in the first free game or re-spin. Then, 'every' free game or re-spin, each moves '1 position in any straight direction without crossing or occupying the same position'.
- Black Turtle: a wild that reaches right. A blue wild 'can appear once on reel 2 OR 3' and expands 'an additional 2 OR 3 position(s) to the right' in the free games, two positions in the re-spins, before pays.
Re-spins in the base game, free games from a full beast
'2 RE-SPINS are triggered at random during the BASE GAME', each version with its beast's wild. The rules do not say how the beast for a re-spin is chosen.
The free games need two things at once: a beast 'appears in full on reel 1, and 3 OR MORE' yin yang symbols 'appear anywhere'. Then '7 FREE GAMES are awarded', with the wilds' action 'determined by the triggering beast', in the game page's words.
Neither feature can be retriggered, both play at the triggering bet, and 'FREE GAME and RE-SPIN features cannot be triggered the same game'.
Where x1,800 sits
Habanero's game page lists a maximum multiplier of x1,800: R27,000 on a R15 spin by our multiplication. The richest entry in the pay table, five dragons or five wilds, is about 16.7 times the stake, so a result near x1,800 needs many winning ways at once, by our reading. The page does not say which spin reaches it, and the demo's rules screen has no win-limit line.
Jackpot meters and casino promotions
The rules screen has a Progressive Jackpot section, and Help says the game 'offers MINOR JACKPOT & GRAND JACKPOT', each taking '0.250% of the bet', seeded at €50 and €5,000, won at random and never in fun play; the demo shows a Grand Jackpot meter over the reels. Habanero sells jackpots to casinos as a tool they switch on from its back office, so a casino may show these meters, others, or none.
The game page's feature list has no SuperBet, Buy Feature or Feature Multiplier. It ticks Jackpot Race, UP Tournaments and Bonus Free Spins, which are likewise promotions a casino decides to run.
Four Divine Beasts RTP and volatility
Habanero gives Four Divine Beasts's return to player as about 92%, 94%, 97% or 98%, set by the operator.
That is 4 settings, and each operator picks one. The highest is 98% and the lowest 92%: a 6-point gap on the same game with the same name.
Volatility is high: long quiet stretches between the wins that matter.
Top payout: 1800x.

Pros, cons and verdict
- Four different wild mechanics, each tied to one beast
- Re-spins can arrive on any base-game spin, at random
- The yin yang scatter pays on its own, anywhere on reels 2 to 5
- The White Tiger's two wilds move one position every free game
- Only 7 free games, and they cannot be retriggered
- Three K, Q or J return a sixth of the stake, by our division
- High volatility, with a listed top multiplier of x1,800
- The casino picks one of four RTP settings, the lowest about 92%
Four Divine Beasts keeps the base game simple and puts its variety in the wilds: which beast stands on reel 1 decides how the free games play. Habanero's Help adds that its RTP figure 'can not be affected by the player strategy', so the beast you hope for is luck, not a choice. The setting your casino runs is written in that same Help, under Return To Player.

What does each beast's wild do?
The dragon's tree covers its whole reel when it is part of a win, the bird's fireball spreads one to six positions in the free games, the tiger's two wilds move one position each game, and the turtle's wild stretches two or three positions to the right in the free games (fewer in the re-spins).
