Mystic Fortune in South Africa: a Phoenix Wild and Tripled Free Games
Mystic Fortune is the older of Habanero's two Mystic Fortune slots, dated 2014 in the studio's catalogue: five reels of three rows and 25 fixed lines. A phoenix is the wild and also the best-paying symbol on a line, a woman in a flowered headdress is the scatter, and three or more of either anywhere start free games in which every prize is tripled. Habanero rates the volatility medium.

How Mystic Fortune is set up
Five reels, three rows and 25 lines that stay on for every spin: the Help in Habanero's free demo says 'Lines are fixed at 25' and that the total bet in coins is the number of lines multiplied by the bet level. With coins from 0.01 to 20 and bet levels of 1, 2, 5, 7 and 10, the demo's own range runs from 0.25 to 5,000 a spin in the player's currency. A casino sets its own limits inside that.
'All symbols pay left to right except scattered' ones, which 'pay any'; only the 'highest win' counts on each line, and scatter wins are multiplied by the total bet and added to the line wins.
In the free demo the reels stand in front of an evening river town with lanterns and lotus lights. Habanero's own one-line pitch tells you to 'look out for the colourful bird', and the rules explain why: the bird is the wild.
What Mystic Fortune pays on a R2.50 spin
The rules screen of Habanero's free demo prints its amounts for the bet in play. We read them at a coin of 0.50 (12.50 a spin) and rewrote them for a R2.50 spin, 25 lines at 10 cents, so every amount is a fifth of the screen's. Symbol names are our reading of the pictures; the last column is our division of the five-symbol pay by the R2.50 spin.

| Symbol | Five | Four | Three | Two | Five, x total bet |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Phoenix (wild) | R1,500 | R250 | R20 | R1 | 600x |

A wild that outpays everything on a line
The rules list the phoenix under 'Substitute' with pays of its own, and they are the largest on the screen: five on a line come to 15,000 line bets, 600 times the total spin by our division, against 10,000 line bets for five gold coins. Two phoenixes from the left already return ten line bets. The phoenix 'substitutes for all other symbols except' the scatter.
Two scatters anywhere pay one total bet, so the spin comes back; three pay three total bets and five pay 250. Three Qs, Js, 10s or 9s return five line bets, a fifth of the R2.50 spin by our arithmetic.
Habanero lists x1,947 as the maximum multiplier without saying how a spin gets there: the studio's figure, not a win cap the rules state.
Two ways into free games, both at triple prizes
The game page sums it up: 'There are 2 triggering symbols and 2 features possible', and the event trigger is '3 or more Scatters/Wilds anywhere'. The rules screen gives the counts. Three or more scatters award 15 FREE GAMES; three or more phoenixes, landing anywhere rather than on a line, award 10.
Whichever symbol opens the round, 'All prizes are TRIPLED during these free games', the games are 'played at the lines and bet of the triggering game', and 'The feature can be retriggered'. The scatter route simply lasts five games longer than the phoenix route.
There is nothing to choose and nothing to buy: Habanero's feature list crosses out Buy Feature, SuperBet and Feature Multiplier, and the demo's Help says the RTP 'can not be affected by the player strategy'.
Mystic Fortune or Mystic Fortune Deluxe?
Habanero keeps both games in its catalogue with their own pages. The 2021 Mystic Fortune Deluxe adds a fourth row and runs 28 lines, swaps the roles of the two symbols (its wild is a fairy, its scatter the phoenix), adds a lotus money symbol, and replaces the flat triple with x2 or x5 free games, up to 288 of them. Habanero lists x4,733 as its top multiplier against x1,947 here.
The original's page shows two RTP settings, the Deluxe's five. In a lobby the line count settles which one you opened: 25 lines on three rows is this game. A tile with another word after the name, Deluxe, Prive or a casino's name, is another game, and Spinomenal's Baba Yaga Tales - Mystic Fortune comes from a different studio altogether.
The jackpot meter above the reels
- Jackpot Race in the demo. The free demo shows a JACKPOT RACE meter above the reels, and its Help says 1.000% of the bet goes to it and gives the race its own theoretical RTP of 1.00%, next to 96.00% for the game. Jackpots 'cannot be won during Fun Play'.
- A casino's choice. Habanero's solutions page puts free spins, jackpots and tournaments in an operator's back office: 'Switch a tool on and it goes live across whichever brands and titles you point it at.' A South African lobby may run this game with another meter, or with none.

Pros, cons and verdict ⚖️
- The wild pays the most on a line, 15,000 line bets for five
- Every prize in the free games is tripled, and the round can be retriggered
- Two scatters anywhere pay back the whole bet
- Only two RTP settings on Habanero's list, 94% and 96%
- No pick, no buy and no growing multiplier: the free games are a fixed triple
- Three Qs, Js, 10s or 9s return a fifth of the spin
- Easy to confuse with the Deluxe and with branded editions in a lobby
A three-row line slot from 2014 with two ideas: a phoenix wild that is also the top-paying symbol, and free games at triple prizes. Medium volatility by Habanero's badge, and the RTP depends on which of two settings your casino runs, so check its Help first; no staking pattern beats the house edge.
Mystic Fortune FAQ ❓
How do you trigger free games in Mystic Fortune?
Three or more scatters anywhere award 15 free games, and three or more phoenix wilds anywhere award 10. In both rounds every prize is tripled, the games play at the triggering bet, and the feature can be retriggered, by the rules screen of Habanero's free demo.
What is the RTP of Mystic Fortune?
Habanero's game page lists two settings, 94% and 96%, and the casino picks one. The Help of the studio's free demo gives 96.00% for the game, plus 1.00% for the Jackpot Race where a casino switches it on.
Is Mystic Fortune the same game as Mystic Fortune Deluxe?
No. The original is a 2014 slot with 25 lines on three rows, a phoenix wild and tripled free games. The Deluxe from 2021 has 28 lines on four rows, a fairy as its wild, a lotus money symbol and free games at x2 or x5.
What is the maximum win in Mystic Fortune?
Habanero lists a maximum multiplier of x1,947 without explaining how it is reached, R4,867.50 on a R2.50 spin by our arithmetic. The largest pay on the rules screen is five phoenixes on a line, 600 total bets by our division.
Can you buy the free games in Mystic Fortune?
No. Habanero's feature list marks Buy Feature and SuperBet as not available for this title, so the free games start only when three or more scatters or phoenix wilds land on the reels.
