PlinkoX in South Africa: SmartSoft's Plinko with Three Versions, B+ and 10,000x
PlinkoX, written Plinko X on SmartSoft Gaming's own site, is the JetX studio's take on Plinko. You choose one of three versions, Low, Medium or High, set a stake and press Hold & Drop: a ball, picked at random as a 1x, 5x or 10x ball, bounces down a pyramid of pegs into a multiplier slot, and the stake is multiplied by both. SmartSoft's help lists a 97.00% return on each version and a top payout of 10,000x on High.

How a PlinkoX drop works
SmartSoft Gaming, the studio behind JetX, writes the name as Plinko X and calls it an instant game. A dome of coloured balls sits above a pyramid of pegs, with multiplier slots along the bottom. You set a stake, pick a version and press Hold & Drop; one ball falls through the pegs into a slot.
Each ball has a value. With each click, the help says, one ball, 1x, 5x or 10x, "is randomly selected to drop onto the pyramid"; the key beside the board shows them red, yellow and blue. The payout is the stake times the ball's value times the slot's multiplier: the help's example, a 5x ball on a 10x multiplier, wins 50x the bet, or R100 on a R2 stake by our arithmetic.
Holding the button keeps balls dropping until you let go, and the panel on the left lists the multipliers won in each drop. None of it is skill: the help says "the speed, skill, or decision of the player" does not change the chances of winning, and an RNG determines the outcomes.
Low, Medium and High: what the slots pay
The help calls the three versions volatility levels and lists no button for rows. By our count all three versions share one board, 16 rows of pegs over 17 slots, and only the slot numbers change. The multipliers are for a 1x ball, from the help's paytable and the demo's boards; a 5x or 10x ball multiplies them again.

The 10,000x payout and the smallest returns
- The top payout. SmartSoft gives 10,000x as the maximum payout potential, on High only: a 10x ball in a 1,000x slot, one of which sits at each edge. The help puts that at "approximately once every 4,802,650 rounds". Medium tops out at 1,000x and Low at 200x.
- Everything short of it. The help publishes multipliers, not chances: it does not say how often a 5x or 10x ball is picked or a given slot is hit.
- No 0x slots. The help says there are no 0x payouts and players "always win at least part of their bet". The part can be small: a 1x ball in Medium's 0.1x slot returns R1 of a R10 stake (our arithmetic). By our count 3 of Low's 17 slots, and 5 of Medium's and High's, pay less than the stake with a 1x ball.
B+, Quick Play and Auto Play
- B+. The help says B+ "increases the chances of dropping higher-value balls (5x and 10x)" and "costs an additional 50% of the original bet per ball (not included in payouts)": R3 for a R2 ball, by our arithmetic. The game asks you to confirm with ACTIVATE.
- Quick Play. The Amount buttons drop 1, 5, 10 or 25 balls a press, each charged separately, and the TOTAL BET line under the board multiplies the stake by the number of balls. With B+ on, 25 balls at R2 cost R75 a press (our arithmetic: 25 x R2 x 1.5).
- Auto Play. You set the stake, the rounds, the balls per drop and B+, and can have it stop when one win exceeds an amount you choose or the balance rises or falls by a set amount. It switches off after a disconnection.
97% on every version, a little more with B+
The help's RTP Information lists a figure for each choice: 97.00% on Low, Medium and High alike, and with B+ 97.02% on Low, 97.03% on Medium and 97.01% on High. Moving from Low to High stretches the multipliers from 0.5x-200x to 0.2x-10,000x without moving the listed return, and B+ moves it by 0.03 of a point at most (our arithmetic).
SmartSoft calls the figure theoretical and "not influenced by player behavior"; it "reflects long-term returns". On paper, R1,000 staked over a very large number of drops comes back as about R970 (our arithmetic).
Bet limits: SmartSoft's figures
The help warns that "the maximum bet allowed may vary depending on the selected version". SmartSoft's demo, in its own DMO credits, allows 0.10 to 1,000 on Low, to 200 on Medium and to 20 on High. Its help shows a 200,000 maximum win on all three: each maximum bet times the version's top payout with a 10x ball (our arithmetic: 1,000 x 200, 200 x 1,000, 20 x 10,000).
Those are demo settings, not rand. The help fills in the limits of the game you have open, so check them at your casino after choosing the version.
Malfunctions and dropped connections
- A malfunction. In the help's words, "all plays and payouts are void", and unfinished rounds are terminated.
- A disconnection or a reload. Active bets and rounds complete automatically and winnings go to your balance; a disconnection also switches Auto Play off.
- A slow line or phone. Connection speed or device processing "may impact, or appear to impact" how the game performs, the help adds.
What no setting changes
Version, stake, ball count and B+ are the choices the game gives you. B+ buys a better chance of 5x and 10x balls for 50% more per ball, and the help lists 97.01% to 97.03% with it against 97.00% without. No staking pattern, version switching or B+ timing beats the house edge of a 97% return. Apps, bots or channels selling PlinkoX patterns or predictions claim to know what the help leaves to an RNG.
