Apocalypse Super xNudge in South Africa: Two-Reel Wilds, Hoarding and a 20,000x Cap
Apocalypse Super xNudge is a Nolimit City slot released on 23 July 2024, set in a post-nuclear city overrun by delinquents with what the studio calls "funky mutations". It plays on six reels of four rows, with wilds that nudge down and multiply, a Super xNudge Wild that needs two reels to line up, three bonus rounds that first collect values and then let mutant characters work on them, and a top win of 20,000 times the base bet.

How Apocalypse Super xNudge works
The grid has six reels of four rows. Nolimit City's launch post places it in a post-nuclear wasteland of crazed mutants and says the game takes the energy of two earlier releases, xWays Hoarder xSplit and Karen Maneater, and "cranks up the radiation".
The ordinary xNudge Wild can land on reels 2 to 5. When it lands it nudges down to the bottom position, and every step it moves adds 1 to its payout multiplier; one that lands at the bottom already acts as a regular wild. The launch post says a nudging xNudge Wild can cover a reel with a x4 multiplier; by our arithmetic that is three steps down a reel of four rows, on top of x1.
The launch post calls the Super xNudge Wild "the supercharged brother of xNudge", and the game is named after it. It lands only on reels 3 and 4, and it does anything special only when it lands on the same row on both reels. Then it drops to the bottom, adds 1 to its multiplier for every step, and expands to cover the whole reel. Several wild multipliers add up to one total, and the maximum for Super xNudge is x8.
How a bonus round runs: Hoarding, then Feasting 🎁
Three Scatters start Carnage Spins and four start Doomsday Spins; both run in two phases, as Nolimit City's game page sets out.
- Hoarding starts with 3 spins, and the Scatters that triggered the bonus are replaced by random value symbols.
- Every value symbol that lands resets the counter to 3 spins. Values are counted in times the active bet, starting at x1, x5, x10, x20 or x40.
- A column filled with all four symbols grants an extra spin in the Feasting feature.
- Hoarding ends when no spins are left or every position is filled, and the round moves to Feasting.
- Feasting gives 5 spins in Carnage Spins and 10 in Doomsday Spins. Enhanced rows open at the top and bottom of the reels, and they can only reveal character symbols.
The five mutants of the Feasting feature
Names and effects as Nolimit City's game page writes them.
- Creator. Creates a new value symbol on an empty position.
- Triplet. Randomly upgrades 3 symbol values to the next level, at the same or at different positions.
- Cutter. Multiplies the value of one random symbol by 2.
- Licker. Adds the highest value on the reels to the total counter.
- Crawer. Collects all symbol values and adds them up to the total counter.
- Persistent characters. A persistent version of a character can also land. It moves one reel to the right with each spin and acts again until it reaches the last reel.
Cataclysm Spins, the five-Scatter round
Five Scatters trigger Cataclysm Spins: the features of Doomsday Spins, but during Feasting only persistent character symbols are available, the kind that moves one reel to the right with every spin.
The studio publishes how often a free spins round comes, 1 in 250 spins on average, but not how that splits between Carnage, Doomsday and Cataclysm Spins. The game page puts no separate number on the five-Scatter round, so neither does this page.
What the xBet, the feature spin and the buys cost
Prices as Nolimit City's game page states them; the two rand columns are our arithmetic at a R1 and a R0.40 base bet.
| Option | What it does, in the studio's words | Price in base bets | At R1 | At R0.40 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal spin | Plain spin | 1 | R1 | R0.40 |
| xBet | More than 3 times as likely to start Carnage or Doomsday Spins; symbol payouts unchanged | 1.5 per spin | R1.50 | R0.60 |
| Super xNudge Feature Spin | One spin that always lands 2 Super xNudge Wilds in the same row | 50 | R50 | R20 |
| Nolimit Bonus buy | Straight into one of the bonus features | 80 to 2,000 | R80 to R2,000 | R32 to R800 |
Total Recall, the hit rate and what they mean in rand
Total Recall is the game's win cap, and Nolimit City's game page words it plainly: the maximum payout is 20,000 times the base bet, and when a round's total win goes past it, the round ends and 20,000 times the base bet is paid. At R0.40 a spin that is R8,000, at R1 it is R20,000, by our arithmetic. The game page gives the chance of the maximum win as 1 in 2.1 million.
The cap does not grow with what you pay. By our arithmetic the top payout is 400 times the price of the 50x feature spin and 10 times the price of the 2,000x bonus buy. The game page gives no return to player for either, and the studio says the buys and Action Spins may be removed in some regulated markets: check your casino's rules screen first.
The page prints a hit frequency of 25.12%, so by our arithmetic about three spins in four pay nothing. Free spins come once in 250 spins on average; at R0.40 a spin that is R100 of play by our sum, and an average is not a schedule. No staking pattern or paid extra beats the house edge, so set a limit in rand before the first spin.
Two return figures and one volatility word 📊
Nolimit City's own game page gives a return to player of 96.03%, while Evolution's games site lists 96.06%. Neither explains the gap; our facts keep the studio's own figure.
On volatility the sources agree: the badge on Nolimit City's page reads Volatility Extreme, Evolution's site lists Extreme, and the launch post calls the game "Extremely Volatile".
Apocalypse Super xNudge RTP and volatility
Nolimit City gives Apocalypse Super xNudge's return to player as 96.03%.
Volatility is extreme: most spins return little or nothing, and the return rests on rare, very large hits that many sessions never see.
Top payout: 20000x.
