Closing or pausing your Hollywoodbets account
Hollywoodbets' terms let you end your account by written notice, and its help pages add a cooling-off you set yourself, self-exclusion by e-mail and self-exclusion through the gambling boards. Here is what its own pages say.

Closing the account
By its terms (clause 19.2), you can end your account by written notice once your bets are settled and anything you owe is paid; Hollywoodbets then refunds the balance "within a reasonable time". Clause 19.4 says every closure goes through identity verification.
Coming back: Hollywoodbets takes no more bets until a fresh registration form is submitted and accepted, and reopening is at its sole discretion (clause 19.3).
Its privacy policy says the facial images (selfies) it collects "only for specific, limited purposes" are kept for 5 years from the end of the business relationship, in line with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act.
A cooling-off you set yourself
In Account Settings, the "Cooling-Off" tab lets you pick a duration, or "Infinite" to exclude yourself permanently. Its terms say a cooling-off of less than 30 days cannot be removed; a longer one, Infinite included, can be removed once 30 days have passed, and the account reactivates automatically when the period ends.
There is also a cooling-off for casino games only, on the same page.
Self-exclusionÂ
By e-mail: selfexclusion@hollywoodbets.net; a self-exclusion covers every game, sport or contingency it offers (clause 21.3). Its help section lists a temporary suspension (at least 1 month), self-exclusion (at least 3 months) and permanent self-exclusion, which closes the account, and says that once a suspension or self-exclusion ends the account is not reactivated automatically: you have to ask.
Through the gambling boards: its responsible gambling page says you can complete the boards' form and e-mail it to info@ngb.org.za, which closes your Hollywoodbets account and returns all the funds in it.
On a permanent self-exclusion all funds are returned and the account is closed; it is reopened only after the upliftment or revocation process set out by the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation.
The responsible gambling page offers both: an Infinite cooling-off set in Account Settings, which can be removed once 30 days have passed, and, to cool off permanently "without having the option to rescind", a request through the contact centre (selfexclusion@hollywoodbets.net, 087 353 7633 or live chat).
If you are closing it because of gambling
Hollywoodbets' pages name the National Responsible Gambling Programme's toll-free counselling line, 0800 006 008, and the e-mail helpline@responsiblegambling.org.za. Our responsible gambling page explains the warning signs and, in general terms, the tools licensed operators offer, self-exclusion among them.
