Rainbow Jackpots in South Africa: The Leprechaun's Pipe, Pots of Free Spins and Beer Mugs
Rainbow Jackpots is the first of Red Tiger's leprechaun slots under this name: five reels of three rows and up to 20 lines. Two of its six features start from three scatters on the reels, the free spins and the Beer Bonus; the other four come only when the Lucky Leprechaun blows his pipe. Unlike Rainbow Jackpots Power Lines, its help prints the numbers: how many free spins each pot can hold and what each beer mug can pay.

What Rainbow Jackpots looks like
Images: Red Tiger, official game page and game files (redtiger.com).
Five reels, three rows and a leprechaun
Red Tiger calls Rainbow Jackpots 'a classic Irish-themed slot game ... complete with pots of gold, lucky horseshoes, and overflowing beer bonuses'. The facts table on its page gives the frame: 3-3-3-3-3 under Reels/Rows, so five reels of three rows, and 20 under Play lines max. That is 15 positions a spin, by our count.
The game's help file covers the features only: it has no pay table and no section on the WILD symbol, so this page gives no symbol values.
One sentence of the help covers most of the game: 'All features and their MEGA variations may be randomly triggered when the LUCKY LEPRECHAUN blows his pipe.'
Six features, two ways in
Starts and numbers as the game's help gives them.
| Feature | How it starts | What the help gives |
|---|---|---|
| Free Spins | Three FREE SPINS scatters anywhere, or the leprechaun | Pick one of 3 pots: 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 15 spins |
| Mega Free Spins | Only the leprechaun, with a 3x3 symbol | 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 spins |
| Symbol Swap | Only the leprechaun | Up to 15 high-paying symbols or wilds land; up to 8 during Free Spins |
| Mega Symbol Swap | Only the leprechaun | Two 2x2 Mega Symbols of a high-paying symbol or the WILD, by the help (3x3 on Red Tiger's page) |
| Beer Bonus | Three BEER BONUS scatters anywhere, or the leprechaun | Pick one mug: 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 50x or 60x the stake |
| Triple Beer Bonus | Only the leprechaun, with a 3x3 symbol | All three mugs are added up; the help names 1000x as the maximum |
Free spins from a pot, or from the pipe
The FREE SPINS symbol is a scatter, and 'three FREE SPINS symbols anywhere on the reels trigger FREE SPINS!' Three pots of gold then appear and you pick one. The help speaks of 'a random number of free spins' and lists every amount a pot can hold: 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 15.
Mega Free Spins work differently. They are 'triggered randomly and only by the LUCKY LEPRECHAUN', who blows a 3x3 MEGA FREE SPINS symbol from his pipe; when it lands it awards 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 free spins.
Symbol Swap and Mega Symbol Swap
In the Symbol Swap the leprechaun 'blows a random high-paying symbol type or a wild out of his pipe and symbols of that type begin to land on the reels'. The help caps the shower at 15 symbols in the normal game, out of the 15 positions on the reels, and at 8 during Free Spins, and does not say what the shower pays.
For the Mega Symbol Swap the two official texts disagree. The game's help says the leprechaun 'blows two 2x2 MEGA SYMBOL variations of the high-paying symbols or the WILD symbol'. The feature list on Red Tiger's page speaks of 'huge 3x3 top-paying symbols'. We cannot say which one a casino's version shows.
Beer mugs: one pick, or all three
The BEER BONUS symbol is a scatter too, and three of them anywhere start the round: you pick a mug, and 'the mug picked by the player awards a stake multiplier applied at the end of the BEER BONUS'. The eight possible values are 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 50x and 60x. At a R2 stake that is R20 to R120, by our sum.
The Triple Beer Bonus starts only from the pipe, with a single 3x3 MEGA BEER BONUS symbol. There is no pick: 'the stake multipliers from ALL THREE of the mugs are summed up and awarded at the end of the bonus.' The help ends the entry with 'The maximum possible multiplier is 1000x', and does not explain how that figure relates to the mug list above.
RTP, volatility and the 1,054x figure
The two official sites of the group differ slightly. RTP: 96.14% on Red Tiger's page, 96.15% on Evolution's games site. Volatility: a HIGH badge from Red Tiger, Mid / High from Evolution. Release: the date 29-09-2016 from Red Tiger, the year 2017 from Evolution.
Two more numbers come only from Red Tiger's facts table. A Hit Frequency of 16.40% means a win on about one spin in six (100 / 16.40 is roughly 6.1, our arithmetic). The Max payout of '1 054 x bet' comes to R2,108 on a R2 stake, by our sum; the game's help sets no win limit of its own.
'Jackpots' is only the name: none of the six features in the help is a jackpot, and the studio's feature list adds none. Since the features 'may be randomly triggered' when the leprechaun blows his pipe, the size or rhythm of your bets does not bring him, and nothing beats the house edge; our RTP and volatility guide explains what these figures say about a session.
Not the same as Power Lines or Tap-A-Roo
Red Tiger reused the name in 2020 for Rainbow Jackpots Power Lines, a different game: six reels of 2 to 7 rows a spin, up to 49 lines, and a help without free spin counts or glass values.
Rainbow Jackpots Tap-A-Roo is an instant game from another studio of the same group, with no reels at all.
Rainbow Jackpots RTP and volatility
Red Tiger gives Rainbow Jackpots's return to player as 96.14%.
Volatility is high: long quiet stretches between the wins that matter.
Top payout: 1054x.

Rainbow Jackpots FAQ
How many free spins can you get in Rainbow Jackpots?
Three FREE SPINS scatters let you pick one of three pots, worth 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 15 free spins. Mega Free Spins, which only the leprechaun's pipe can start, award 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 spins. The help gives no chance for any amount.
What does the Beer Bonus pay?
You pick one mug, and it awards a multiplier on the stake: 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 50x or 60x. At R2 that is R20 to R120, by our sum. In the Triple Beer Bonus all three mugs are added up, and the help names 1000x as the maximum.
Does Rainbow Jackpots have a jackpot?
Not as a feature. The help lists six features, two free spins rounds, two symbol swaps and two beer bonuses, and none of them is a jackpot. The largest figures are the studio's Max payout of 1,054x the bet and the 1000x the help gives as the Triple Beer Bonus maximum.
Is Rainbow Jackpots the same game as Rainbow Jackpots Power Lines?
No. The original has five reels of three rows and up to 20 lines. Power Lines, from 2020, has six reels with 2 to 7 rows a spin and up to 49 lines.
Can you make the Lucky Leprechaun appear?
No. The help says the features 'may be randomly triggered' when he blows his pipe, and four of them start only that way. No bet size or staking pattern calls him up, and none beats the house edge.
