Dragon's Luck Deluxe in South Africa: Dragon Coins, the Mega Dragon and Free Spins
Dragon's Luck Deluxe is Red Tiger's 'stunning upgrade' of its classic Dragon's Luck, in the studio's own words: 'Free spins are now on offer and the max win has been increased'. Red Tiger lists 5 reels, 4 rows and 20 play lines. By the game's help, Dragon Coins land anywhere and flip to identical symbols or Free Spins scatters, the dragons beside the reels can flip them once more, and a Mega Dragon coin fills 3x3 positions.

How Dragon's Luck Deluxe is laid out
Red Tiger's page gives the grid as 5x4 under Reels/Rows and 20 under Play lines max, so a spin shows 20 positions, by our count, and pays on lines. The game's help has four entries under SPECIAL SYMBOLS AND FEATURES: Dragon Coin, Dragon's Help, Mega Dragon and Free Spins.
Red Tiger's own intro screenshot shows the cast around the logo: a small figure with two long feathers in its headdress, a coin stamped 138, a large gold coin with a dragon's face, a pink lotus and a koi carp, over the line 'WIN OVER 3,888x!'. Its free spins screenshot shows the reels framed by dark pillars, with a fiery dragon coiled round each. The descriptions are ours; the help names only the coins and the scatters.
Red Tiger's figures for the game list no Feature buy-in row, and the help describes no way into the free spins other than the coins.
Dragon Coins: one symbol for every coin
The help's first entry reads: 'The Dragon coin mystery symbols may land anywhere and flip to reveal identical paying symbols or Free Spins scatters.' Red Tiger's page puts the same rule in other words: 'All Dragon Coins in any single spin flip to reveal identical symbols.'
Dragon's Help belongs to the dragons on the pillars: 'When the dragons on either side of the reels awake, they flip the Dragon coins again for better symbols. The dragons may be triggered once during a spin.' The help says nothing about what wakes them or how often; it fixes only the limit of one second flip per spin.
The Mega Dragon coin
The third entry: 'The Mega Dragon coin fills 3x3 symbols on the reels', and the help promises a win when it lands. It adds that the coin may land partly or fully on the reels: by our reading, part of it can sit off the visible grid.
On a 5x4 grid a full Mega Dragon covers 9 of the 20 positions, 45% of the screen, by our arithmetic. Red Tiger's free spins screenshot shows one in place over the second to fourth reels, by our count, with a full reel of single coins beside it.
Free Spins: scatters that come out of the coins 🎁
In the help, Free Spins scatters arrive through the coins. 'Each FREE SPINS scatter revealed by the DRAGON COINS awards one FREE SPIN for a maximum of 20 FREE SPINS.' A spin whose coins flip to scatters therefore gives as many free spins as there were coins showing scatters, up to 20, by our reading.
Inside the round the help changes two things. 'The longer the bonus round lasts, the more Dragon coins may land throughout it', which Red Tiger's page sums up as a bonus that 'gets more generous the longer it lasts'. And 'each FREE SPINS scatter revealed by the Dragon coins during FREE SPINS awards one BONUS SPIN'. The 20 in the help is the cap on the spins the coins award to start the round; for bonus spins added during it, the help names no limit.
Deluxe next to Dragon's Luck Power Reels
Each line comes from the help and Red Tiger's page of that game. They are two different games, and neither rule carries over to the other.
| Rule | Dragon's Luck Deluxe | Dragon's Luck Power Reels |
|---|---|---|
| Reels and rows | 5x4 | 10x6 |
| Play lines | 20 | 30 |
| Large coins | One Mega Dragon, 3x3 | Mega Coins from 3x3 to 10x6 |
| Free spins in the help | Yes, from revealed scatters | No |
| Second flip by the dragons | At most once a spin | Not stated in its help |
| Max payout on Red Tiger's page | 3,999x | 3,888x |
What Red Tiger and Evolution publish, side by side 🔍
Red Tiger's page and Evolution's games site agree on the rules and on almost nothing else. Red Tiger gives a 95.77% RTP, Evolution 94.71%; neither lists RTP versions, and neither says which figure a South African casino runs, so the number in the game's own help at your casino is the one that applies. For the volatility, Red Tiger's badge reads EXTREME and Evolution's site says High. For the release, Red Tiger gives 18 February 2021 and Evolution 2020.
Red Tiger's own page carries two top figures: '3 999 x bet' under Max payout, and a description saying the max win 'has been increased to a lucky 3,888x', the number its intro screen prints as 'WIN OVER 3,888x!'. Neither is called a win limit in the help. As an example only, 3,999 times a R2 stake is R7,998, by our arithmetic.
The figure that tells you most about an ordinary session is the hit frequency: 7.33% on Red Tiger's page. That is about one spin in 14 ending with a win over a long run, by our arithmetic, so long stretches without a win are the normal shape of this game. No staking pattern or betting system changes that or beats the house edge; our RTP and volatility guide explains how the two numbers fit together.
Dragon's Luck Deluxe RTP and volatility 📊
Red Tiger gives Dragon's Luck Deluxe's return to player as 95.77%.
Volatility is extreme: most spins return little or nothing, and the return rests on rare, very large hits that many sessions never see.
Top payout: 3999x.

Pros, cons and verdict ⚖️
- Every Dragon Coin in a spin flips to the same symbol, by the help
- Free spins come straight out of the coins, one per revealed scatter
- During free spins each revealed scatter adds a bonus spin, and more coins may land as the round goes on
- The Mega Dragon covers 9 of the 20 positions, and the help promises a win when it lands
- A 7.33% hit frequency on Red Tiger's page and an EXTREME volatility badge
- The two official sites differ on RTP, 95.77% against 94.71%
- No feature buy among Red Tiger's figures, so the round waits on the coins
- The help names no trigger for the dragons' second flip
Dragon's Luck Deluxe keeps one idea and builds everything on it: coins that all flip to the same symbol, a 3x3 Mega Dragon, a second flip from the dragons at most once a spin, and free spins counted from the scatters the coins reveal. Red Tiger pairs that with a 7.33% hit frequency and an EXTREME badge, so pick a rand stake built for long runs without a win.
