Phoenix Fire Power Reels in South Africa: Winged Symbols, Phoenix Wilds and 1,941x
Phoenix Fire Power Reels is a Red Tiger slot released on 8 August 2019, with eight reels of six rows and 30 play lines. Its winged symbols pay nothing on their own: a 1x3 Phoenix Wild turns the ones next to it into wilds, and Phoenix Wildfire can turn all of them at once. Free spins start at seven. Red Tiger lists a 96.22% RTP, a 21.10% hit frequency and a 1,941x max payout.

What Phoenix Fire Power Reels looks like

Eight reels, six rows and symbols that do not pay
Red Tiger's page puts 8x6 under Reels/Rows and 30 under Play lines max, and Evolution's games site opens its overview with 'In this 8×6 slot'. That is 48 positions on the screen, by our arithmetic. Evolution describes the wins as 'paying adjacent from anywhere on the reels'; the published help names no payline map and no adjacency rule for ordinary wins, so the pays screen at your casino is where to read how a line is counted.
What makes this grid unusual is a class of symbols that pays nothing. The help calls them Winged Symbols: 'Non-paying symbols which may be turned into WILDS by either a Phoenix Super Wild symbol or the Phoenix Wildfire.' In Red Tiger's own screenshot of a finished spin, grey feathered wings sit among rings, goblets, scrolls and card suits; we read the wings as those symbols, since the help shows no picture of them.
Ordinary wilds follow the usual rule, in the help's words: they 'substitute for all paying symbols', form only one payout on a single payline and 'will always pick the higher paying symbol'. Red Tiger's figures list no feature buy.
Phoenix Wild and Phoenix Wildfire
The Phoenix Wild is a '1x3 Super Wild symbol that turns all adjacent winged symbols into WILDS'. It takes three positions of one reel, 3 of the 48 or 6.25% of the grid by our sum, and its value depends on what lands around it: a Phoenix next to several winged symbols makes several wilds, while one surrounded by paying symbols adds only itself. The help does not say whether a diagonal neighbour counts as adjacent. In the base game only one Phoenix Wild can land.
Phoenix Wildfire is the random event for the spins without one: 'With no Phoenix Wild on the reels, a Phoenix may randomly appear and activate ALL winged symbols on the reels, turning them into WILDS.' The help gives no odds for it. The two features never overlap by that wording, since Wildfire needs a grid with no Phoenix Wild on it, and between them they are the only routes the help gives for a winged symbol to become part of a win.
Free spins: seven, then seven more 🎁
The help sets out the round in three rules:
- The trigger. Three Free Spins symbols anywhere on the reels start the round, and 'The player is awarded seven Free Spins.'
- Bonus Spins. 'Seven Bonus Spins may be awarded during Free Spins if three Free Spins symbols land anywhere on the reels.' Evolution's overview calls this 'Free Spins within Free Spins'. The help does not say whether it can happen more than once.
- More Phoenix Wilds. The base-game limit of one lifts: 'Up to three Phoenix Wilds may land on the reels in a single spin during Free Spins.'
What the studio's pictures of the bonus show
Red Tiger's feature card for the round shows a grid with three tall Phoenix wilds standing in one spin, the case the third rule allows. Its own screenshot from inside the round shows the counter at 6 FREE SPINS, one tall Phoenix wild on the sixth reel and two WILD tiles at the top of the first and fifth reels, with the symbols below them still a blur of motion.
Because the extra Phoenix Wilds can each turn their own neighbours, the bonus is where, by our reading, the winged symbols have the most chances to become wilds. How often that pays off is not something the help quantifies, and seven spins is a short round: plan the stake for the base game, not for the bonus.
Red Tiger's figures next to Evolution's
As each site of the group published them on 12 October 2026.
| Figure | Red Tiger's page | Evolution's games site |
|---|---|---|
| Release | 8 August 2019 | 2019 |
| RTP | 96.22% | 96.22% |
| Volatility | HIGH | Mid / High |
| Max payout | 1,941x the bet | over 1,900x |
| Hit frequency | 21.10% | not given |
Reading the numbers
The return is the one figure both sites print the same, 96.22%. No list of other versions appears on either site, and neither says which version a South African lobby carries, so look for the figure in the game's own information before a real-money spin.
Red Tiger writes the top figure as '1 941 x bet', and Evolution rounds it to over 1,900x. The help sets no win cap, so treat 1,941x as the studio's figure: on a R2 stake it would be R3,882, by our arithmetic.
The 21.10% hit frequency means, over a long run, a win on roughly one spin in five (100 divided by 21.10 is 4.74, our sum). The badges differ in wording, HIGH from Red Tiger and Mid / High from Evolution, which by our reading are two scales rather than a disagreement. No staking pattern or betting system beats the house edge; our RTP and volatility guide explains how these numbers fit together.
This is not the only Power Reels game on the site: Dragon's Luck Power Reels uses a 10x6 grid and coins rather than winged symbols, so the series name alone says little about how a game plays.

Pros, cons and verdict ⚖️
- Winged symbols that pay nothing can all turn wild at once through Phoenix Wildfire
- Up to three Phoenix Wilds may land in a single free spin
- Three Free Spins symbols inside the round award seven Bonus Spins
- Both sites of the group give the same 96.22% RTP
- Red Tiger badges its volatility HIGH, and wins land on 21.10% of spins over a long run by its figure
- The free spins round starts at only seven spins
- The published help leaves the payline layout and the meaning of 'adjacent' unsaid
- No feature buy appears among Red Tiger's figures
Phoenix Fire Power Reels turns on one idea: a class of symbols that is dead weight until a Phoenix touches it, by a 1x3 wild in the base game, by Wildfire across the whole grid, or by up to three Phoenix Wilds in a free spin. With a 1,941x top figure and wins on about one spin in five, set a rand budget for long quiet stretches.
Phoenix Fire Power Reels FAQ ❓
What are the winged symbols in Phoenix Fire Power Reels?
The help calls them non-paying symbols. They pay only after they turn into wilds, either because a Phoenix Wild lands next to them or because Phoenix Wildfire turns every winged symbol on the reels into a wild at once.
How does the Phoenix Wild work?
It is a 1x3 Super Wild that turns all adjacent winged symbols into wilds. Only one can land in the base game; in free spins up to three can land in a single spin. The help does not define whether diagonal positions count as adjacent.
How many free spins does the game give?
Three Free Spins symbols anywhere on the reels award seven free spins. If three Free Spins symbols land during the round, the help says seven Bonus Spins may be awarded; Evolution calls this Free Spins within Free Spins.
How high can a Phoenix Fire Power Reels win go?
Red Tiger's page gives a Max payout of '1 941 x bet', and Evolution's games site says over 1,900x. The help sets no cap, so it is the studio's figure. On a R2 stake that is R3,882, by our arithmetic.
Which RTP does Phoenix Fire Power Reels have?
Red Tiger's page and Evolution's games site both give 96.22%. No other return is published for it, and neither site names the version a local lobby runs, so look for the figure in the game's own information at your casino.
