Jump! in South Africa: A Jester Wild That Hops and Reels That Grow to 1,024 Ways
Jump! is a Habanero fruit slot dated 2018 on the studio's own site, not to be mixed up with its 2024 follow-up Jump! 2. Its five reels are uneven, two, two, three, four and four rows tall, for 192 ways. A jester wild starts re-spins that make the short reels taller, and once every reel reaches four rows, seven free games play on 1,024 ways. Habanero rates the volatility very high and lists a maximum multiplier of x1,440.

How Jump! pays
Jump! has no paylines. Habanero's page lists '192 - 1024 Ways (25 Coins)', and the rules screen in its free demo says 'Ways pay if in succession from the leftmost reel to the right', 'Only the longest matching combination per symbol is paid' and 'Wins on different ways are added'.
The reels are not the same height. In the base game the first two show two symbols each, the third three and the last two four, so by our arithmetic 2 x 2 x 3 x 4 x 4 = 192 ways. With every reel at four rows the count is 4 x 4 x 4 x 4 x 4 = 1,024, the top of Habanero's range.
The stake is always 25 coins, multiplied by a level of 1, 2, 5, 7 or 10, with a coin size between 0.01 and 20 in the demo's Help. That pair of coin and level is what the rules call a bet configuration, which matters for the Stacked Spin.
What one way pays on a R12.50 spin
Amounts as Habanero's demo rules print them for its opening stake of 12.50, which is 0.50 a coin at level 1, shown here in rand. The symbol names are our reading of the pictures, and the last column is our division of the five-symbol pay by 12.50.
| Symbol | Five | Four | Three | Five, x bet |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Triple 7 | R250 | R100 | R7.50 | 20x |
| Bells | R150 | R60 | R5 | 12x |
| Watermelon | R100 | R35 | R5 | 8x |
| Lemon | R75 | R20 | R2.50 | 6x |
| Plum | R35 | R15 | R2.50 | 2.8x |
| Cherries | R20 | R7.50 | R2.50 | 1.6x |
Why the number of ways matters more than the table
Each entry is the pay for one way. On a R12.50 spin every three of a kind pays R7.50 or less, and even four 7s on a single way return R100, eight times the bet. Bigger pays come from one symbol lining up on many ways at once, which is where the taller reels of the feature count.
Habanero lists x1,440 as the maximum multiplier, about R18,000 on a R12.50 spin by our arithmetic, without saying how it is reached. It is the studio's figure, not a ceiling the rules screen states.
The jester wild and the re-spins
The wild is a jester's hat in an orange frame. The rules: it 'substitutes for all symbols', it 'can only appear once on screen for any' base game, and wilds 'do not pay'.
One jester is enough to start something: 'Any' wild 'on screen in the BASE GAME awards a RE-SPIN', and 'any win during RE-SPINS awards another RE-SPIN'. The jester then 'sticks to the reels during RE-SPINS and FREE GAMES, and jumps to an adjacent block every spin (where reels are the same size)'. No second wild 'can appear during RE-SPINS or FREE GAMES', and both are 'played at the bet of the triggering game'.
From 192 ways to 1,024: how the reels grow
The rules: 'The rightmost reel that is not 4 rows, expands 1 row each RE-SPIN and at the start of the FREE GAMES feature', and '7 FREE GAMES are awarded once all columns are 4 rows (after 4 RE-SPINS played)'. By our reading of that rule, the ways go like this:
- First re-spin, from the jester. The third reel grows from three rows to four: 2 x 2 x 4 x 4 x 4 = 256 ways by our count.
- Second and third re-spins. The second reel grows to three rows, then four: 384 and then 512 ways. Each of these re-spins needs a win in the one before it.
- Fourth re-spin. After a win in the third re-spin, the first reel grows to three rows: 3 x 4 x 4 x 4 x 4 = 768 ways.
- Seven free games. The first reel takes its fourth row as the free games begin, and all seven play on 1,024 ways with the sticky jester still hopping.
The Stacked Spin display
Above the reels sit six outlined icons, one for each paying symbol: the 7, the bells and four fruits. 'Any winning symbol on screen activates the corresponding symbol in the STACKED SPIN display', and once all six are lit, the rules make the very next spin a Stacked Spin.
On that spin '5 of the same random symbol', the jester excluded, 'will appear anywhere on screen before the reels land'; the rules do not say one per reel. Nothing lights up during the Stacked Spin, and every icon goes dark once it ends.
The last rule is the one to keep in mind: 'Activated STACKED SPIN symbols are saved for each bet configuration'. By our reading, a change of coin or bet level brings up the display saved for that pair, empty if it was never used, and going back to the old pair brings its lit icons back.
Buys, jackpots and casino extras
- Nothing to buy. SuperBet, Buy Feature and Feature Multiplier carry a cross on Habanero's game page; the free games come only through the re-spins.
- No jackpot in the demo's Help. The demo's Help lists no jackpot, and Jackpot Race carries a cross on the game page.
- Tools a casino may switch on. Bonus Free Spins and UP Tournaments are ticked on the game page; Habanero's solutions page sells free spins and tournaments as tools an operator switches on, so one casino may offer them and another not.

Jump! FAQ ❓
How do you trigger the free games in Jump!?
A jester wild in the base game gives a re-spin, and every win during the re-spins gives another. Each re-spin makes the rightmost short reel one row taller. Once all five reels reach four rows, after four re-spins, seven free games play on 1,024 ways.
What does the jester do in Jump!?
It substitutes for all symbols but pays nothing itself, and at most one appears on screen in the base game. During re-spins and free games it stays on the reels and jumps to a neighbouring position every spin, where the reels are the same size.
What is the Stacked Spin in Jump!?
Each symbol that wins lights its icon above the reels. When all six are lit, the next spin is a Stacked Spin: five of one random symbol, never the jester, appear anywhere on screen before the reels stop. Progress is saved separately for each pair of coin and bet level.
What is the RTP of Jump!?
There is no single figure. Habanero's page for Jump! lists about 86%, 92%, 94%, 97% and 98%, and which of them a casino runs is its choice. The studio's own free demo states 96.79% in its Help, so open the Help inside your casino's version to see its number.
What is the maximum win on Jump!?
Habanero lists a maximum multiplier of x1,440, about R18,000 on a R12.50 spin by our arithmetic. The rules screen names no win cap, and the largest single entry in the paytable, five 7s on one way, is 20 times the bet.
