What to check in a free bet
Check the minimum odds, how many times the free bet must be played, the time limit and whether the stake comes back with the winnings or is deducted from them. It usually is deducted, which lowers the value of a free bet at short odds.
Where the terms state these, the row gives them. Terms write minimum odds as decimals (1.50) or as fractions (5/10, which some write as 0.5); our odds converter shows fractional and American odds as decimals.
Free bets: common questions
Do I keep the stake of a free bet?
Usually not: on most free bets the stake is deducted from what the bet returns. Our rows do not state it for each offer, so check the operator's terms before you place it.
Can I use a free bet on casino games?
Where the terms say, a free bet is for sport at minimum odds. An operator's sign-up bonus can sometimes be played on casino slots instead, with different wagering; the terms in each row say which.
Is a free bet the same as a no-deposit offer?
Not always: some come after a first bet or a deposit. The no-deposit offers page lists those whose operator says no deposit is needed.
